Help! Dining suggestions

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I picked good restaurants.
I am not sure about Marakesh. SOme of the food looks a little too strange.

This is what I have so far:

Hollywood and Vine - Fantasmic dinner
Le Celier - Lunch
Chefs du france - Dinner
Crystal palace - Character breakfast
Marakesh - Dinner
Cinderella's Royal Table
Whispering Canyon - Dinner
Biergarten - Dinner

Some of the counter service one's
Ray's Starlight Cafe
Pizza Planet
Cantina De San Angel
Maybe need some counter service suggestions too.

I have two boys 4 and 2 if that helps.

Welcome to the DISboards! I'll tell you my personal preferences, surely!

I am not sure about Marakesh. SOme of the food looks a little too strange.

For Moroccan food, it actually is pretty plain -- not strange at all.

This is what I have so far:

• Hollywood and Vine - Fantasmic dinner Good but not great. I think the Fantasmic Package isn't worth the bother. Just get seats for Fantasmic yourself, arriving earlier enough to do so, and have dinner at 50s Prime Time Cafe instead.
• Le Cellier - Lunch Good but not great. Lots of folks like this place very much. It is okay, but don't go in expecting the glorious eatery that some might lead you into thinking you'll find there.
• Chefs de France - Dinner One of the best. This is a wonderful restaurant. Leave yourself in the hands of the servers and they'll help you find wonderful choices that you'll find remarkable.
• Crystal Palace - Character breakfast Very good. Perhaps the best buffet at WDW for dinner, and breakfast is very good as well.
• Marakesh - Dinner Good but not great. If Moroccan food isn't something you'd like, then perhaps chose another restaurant. Rose and Crown has good food, but even better, check out Coral Reef. Even for folks who don't like seafood, it is great. Also consider Garden Grill -- the food is just "okay", but it is a character meal, and the character interactions are great.
• Cinderella's Royal Table Good but not great. Over-priced, over-sold. You can do better. Maybe aim for Akershus at Epcot for your character meal with princesses, and do CS at the Magic Kingdom. Either that or check out Liberty Tree Tavern, or do Crystal Palace for dinner instead of breakfast.
• Whispering Canyon - Dinner A quintessential Disney experience. This is one of the two restaurants which is a must I feel for families with young children (the other being 50s Prime Time Cafe). The servers really get into the "show", and it is a wonderful overall experience.
• Biergarten - Dinner Very good for what it is. I can't say anything bad about this place. The food is good, the entertainment is fine. It's not a "must" but a good choice nevertheless.
• Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe One of the best CS.
• Pizza Planet Good but not great. The ABC Commissary is a great CS at Disney-MGM Studios.
• Cantina De San Angel Very good. This actually shocked us during our last trip. A very good choice.

Maybe need some counter service suggestions too.

At Animal Kingdom Park, either Tusker House or Flame Tree Barbecue will be great.

We took our first trip DH, DS6, and myself this past March. We ate at some of your choices. Here's my opinion as a newbie:

Hollywood & Vine - Fantasmic. We had 4:10 ADR. We were seated relatively quickly. I enjoyed the food. There was peel and eat shrimp (which I love) and the dessert selection was really good. The creamed corn spoon bread was like eating candy, DH loved it. The early ADR was good. It was quite crowded when we left, lots of people waiting, the restaurant was starting to get really loud. I liked having time to stretch our legs and do things before Fantasmic began. We still got to Fantasmic about an hour early, honestly because we were tired and sitting sounded really good

Crystal Palace - We ate lunch here. So not sure about direct comparison...good food, good character interaction...very pretty restaurant really, light and bright, beautiful windows.

Cinderella's Royal Table - Lunch for us. We loved it. Yes, it cost 2TS. Was it worth it? Our picture with Cindy could have been better...but we got one. Our table could have been in a nicer location, but the room itself is beautiful, the high ceiling with the flags, the tall chairs, the stain glass windows. Our character interaction was fabulous! Snow White kissed DS (twice! ), Belle had a sword fight with him , Jasmine was sweet, Fairy Godmother was well...I don't have anything nice to sayDH and I had the salmon. Excellent actually. DS had a kids pick platter that came with grilled chicken, penne and maranara sauce, green beans, and something else. DH and I had blueberry buckle dessert, excellent, and DS had a sundae, he was happy. Do we want to go back? No, because it was an experience really, and it was wonderful, and I don't think a repeat visit would live up to it. This doesn't detract from the fact that it was totally worth it to us to eat in the castle (not just there for the princesses) and have the experience.

I think your choices are good with one exception, Restaurant Marrakesh. (The following opinion is based upon ONE visit. I will try it again one of these days.)

The meal was bland, and not to my liking. The meat was tough and hard to eat. The men's room was dirty; looked like it had not been cleaned for several hours. (I ate there at about 7:30 pm on that day.) The belly dancer was somewhat entertaining.
