Help - dining plan questions!

I´m loosing my mind trying to figure out whether the dining plan is a good deal or not for our family of 6+baby.

Can we use all of our TS credits for character meals, or can we just exchange ONE TS credit for a character meal? Could I go to Akershus, Chrystal Palace, Chef Mickey´s, Coral Reef, Sci-Fi, Boma and Marrakesh for 7 TS credits?

Do we pre-pay the 18% gratuity or do we have to pay it each time we dine?

You can have a character meal every day if you wish. You are given a set number of credits and how you use them is up to you. If you wanted to have 3 TS meals per day you can but once the credits are gone that's it. Just be cautious of the meals that require 2 TS credits.

You get:
1 TS per day per person
1 CS per person per day
1 snack per person per day

The 18% is paid after the meal based on what the total bill would be if you were paying for it OOP.

Thanks! This means I only pay gratuity at TS restaurants and buffets, right?

I guess we´re not allowed to split meals at a la carte TS restaurants, but what about CS places? Can we split meals there? And save some credits?

Yes, you only pay gratuities at TS restaurants.

No, the TS places don not allow sharing of meals.

Yes, you can share at a CS. Although I'm not sure why you would want some extra CS credits. Breakfast maybe????? Your snack credits can easily cover breakie.

Just a tip.....unless you are a very big eater there is WAY too much food when you are on the DDP....even with the changes. We decided that the best use of credits was to have a late breakfast, say around 10:30am and then have an early dinner, say 5pm and just have a snack in between.

It works for us, but obviously not for everyone.

Thanks! What kind of breakfast can we get with snack credits? I am soooo lost in this whole dining plan thing.

You can get things like cereal with milk, muffins, bagel & cream cheese, danishes, fruit. If you go on the DDP FAQ there is a listing of all the items available with the snack credits.



What I forgot to mention in my master DDP plan was that we use the CS credit in the morning for that late breakfast and actually have a meal. Then use the TS for dinner.....or vise versa.
