  Okay, I am usually a DISER, but DH told us yesterday that we are going to US/IOA next week for one day. Leaving Sept. 15 and I only get one day. Can this be done with little to no planning?? How are the crowds? Can we do the 2 parks in one day and not feel overwhelmed? I have a 10,9,and 6 year old. VERY EXCITED, BUT PANICKED!

OK...just take a deep breath and calm down. You don't have to do a lot of planning for Universal like you do for Disney. One day is not really a lot of time for both parks but you can always purchase the Express passes if the lines are getting too long for you. Depending on what types of rides your kids like, you could be OK though.

Just remember to be there at opening and you will get a jump on the lines. And...have a great time!

Thanks so much MetroWest. I knew you would answer! So would it be worth the extra money to get the 2-day 2-park ticket?

I think so...that way you can really enjoy yourselves and not have to rush around. I'm sure the kids would appreciate it too. :thumbsup2

Take a deep breath. The exact same thing happened to me. We won some local TV contest & got 2 1 day passes. So we're leaving on a Friday to let our DS 5 spend the day at the pool & my DH relax from the driving. The next day we'll be there when the parks open & hit the rides everyone REALLY wants to go to. I've shown my DS the Universal website & the pix from DIS so we know to leave the play areas for last if not pretend they're closed :rotfl: Have fun & we'll be there Sat 9/13 with a very opinionated 5 year old. So I'm going to TRY (in order words drink beer) to relax & enjoy the day. I'm thinking since Halloween Horror nights hasn't started yet the crowds should be light. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyway you'll have fun ! :dance3:

And also you won't have to worry about starving. You don't have to bother calling ahead 6 months in advance to make a dinner reservation like WDW either.
