I have been trying to come up with a list of restaurants for our trip May 3-14, 2006. My DH would like to just pick the restaurants and then plan our trip around them. What we usually do is plan our park days and then pick the restaurants based on our location for that day. He doesn't want to be really structured as to where we are going to spend each day, EMH and such do not matter, it will just be the 2 of us for our anniversary, and we are not to worried about time crunches. Will this work, I am a little freaked out because I plan everything down to the last minute, and he doesn't want to plan anything but our ADR's. Has anyone ever done there schedule this way?

Tell him to step away slowly from the planning before someone gets hurt! LOL!!!

As soon as my DH gets involved things get ALL messed up. I usually have our itinerary set then DH steps up to the plate with his 2 cents. This is after I asked for his input and he says, "Oh whatever. I don't care either way."

Our last trip we did NO ADR's and basically played the whole trip by ear. It was less structured and a little less stressful. However, we still planned which park to go to which day, so an added ADR would have only helped if we had wanted to dine at a TS restaurant.

I would do a loose plan with some ADR's then play the rest by ear. Being a party of 2, I don't think you'd have a lot of trouble walking up to some places to get a seat for dinner.

Hope this helps!

I have just the opposite problem! No one out of 7 will give me any in put until we get there and then they all want to do it a different way and want to cancel this ADR ect.!! I've told them this year there will be none of that so they'd better say if there's something they don't want do!! None of them understand why grandma has to plan for a March trip in Sept.!! I've told them we have to get our ADR's or eat counter food!! Then we got them and disney started changing things so who knows what it will be like when we go!! Right now I have it all worked out but if they start making more 2 credits meals besides CRT, I will be in trouble!! It's bad to take the dining plan and then have to pay for a bunch of food besides breakfast!! :confused3

Most of our ADR's will be for TS restaurants at resorts. We will be doing a couple in Epcot, and actually nothing in MK, we did CRT a couple of years ago, and really don't want to try Tony's. Does anyone know if we should make ADR's for breakfasts or just play breakfast by ear? Being that there will only be 2 of us. We won't be eating at Crystal Palace or CRT, but would like to try Ohana, WC @ WL, Concourse @ CR, etc. Thanks so much for all of your advice.

Allow me to introduce you to a very useful thing I discovered on our October trip. I call it the "map whap". Whenever anyone in your party is being unreasonable you simply give them a sharp smack with your park map. You will always have a park map because YOU ARE IN CHARGE. (I was accused of being a park commando on this past trip. Go figure. :confused3 )

I would make ADRs for everywhere you know you want to go because the TS places DO fill up. If you decide once you are there to do something different you can cancel, but your DH MUST understand that if you cancel your ADRs on a whim you may end up eating CS all week. Take a look at the park hours and put together a loose itinerary, then book your ADRs around it.

People who refuse to plan give me hives! :rotfl:

MAP WHACK!!! I love it!! :rotfl2:

We are going in January and had to completely change my dining ADR's 3 times!!! (Fantasmic is closed most of the time that we are going, then the EMHs changed!) My DH was so sick of all the "Disney Talk". But he is so happy when we get to Disney and everything is all planned out for him.

I may have to use your map whack idea.

My advise, make your plans. You can always cancel your ADR's or try to change them when you get there.

I would say that his plan isn't a bad one. At least part of your day is structured, and the reservations are hard to get on the day of. So most likely you will go to the park that your restaurant is in, anyway!

Map Whap, that is awesome! Is there a bigger brochure that has all the parks in map form so I can make my point more effectively with the whap? :earseek: The DH was the same, I say if you dont vote, dont #@#@! So we are eating pretty much where I like the menu, he said he didnt care. (But I did make ADRs for what I really wanted to do!)

"MAP WHACK" ....love it!!!!

I am having the same problems with DH and ADR's.

I did this when my dear bf told tried to get involved..Except I used the vaction planning dvd case...lol. Not a whack with this object, mind you. More of a light bonk.
