Help determining cost to upgrade my 5 day PHs

So I have four 5 day park hoppers in my MDE account. They are leftover from sometime in 2012/2013, but I'm honestly not sure the exact date I bought them and from where. My best guess is I bought them directly from Disney, probably through DVC Member Services. I called Disney today to see if they could tell me what the cost will be to upgrade them to 7 day PHs. The CM could not tell me how much, only that it "probably won't be much". So I called back and spoke to a second CM. She also wasn't able to tell me how much, said that their system has no way of checking what I paid for the tickets. I'm not trying to get something I don't deserve, I'm just trying to plan so I know what the cost will be. Is there really no way of finding out in advance what the cost will be? Only to go to Guest Services once we get to Disney and ask them? If it were just me, I'd take my chances, but I'm offering these to extended family members and trying to help them understand the cost before they get there if they want to stay longer. Thanks for any help!

Like the CM said it probably won't be much. After 5 days it is seriously only like $11/day to add an extra day, but I think their hesitation is that now you would have to pay the difference of the full cost of a 7/day hopper minus what you paid before. So it wouldn't simply be $22. It would be a bit more for whatever the cost of tickets has gone up.

The thing is, I think it's a lot more than $20, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I found some 2012 ticket prices and the 5 day PH back then was $325. Today it is $445 and the 7 day is $485. So I think the upgrade is more in the neighborhood of $140. That's a big difference and I'm stunned that no one at Disney can pull up my account and tell me for sure. My family can get an Armed Forces Salute 4 day PH for $209 so it might change affect the decision whether to add 2 days to my tickets or buy additional tickets.

To upgrade, it's the current cost of the 7d ph minus the current cost of the 5d ph, plus tax. We just did this last year. Know the price you should pay because the CM doesn't always get it right. You may have to try again later.

Not when you buy them directly from Disney, which is what the OP thinks is the case. Bridging (which would bring the value of the tickets to gate price) only takes place when tickets are bought at a discounted price, either from a reseller (like Undercover Tourist) or as part of a package.

The phone CMs who address ticket questions are based in Call Centers in Tampa. They don't do Ticket upgrades.

You'll have to use the cost of a 5-day ticket using the pricing that was available on 2/11/2017. Then calculate the difference between that and a currently priced 7-day ticket. That's the most you could possibly pay.

Alternatively, a CM may give you the pricing based on a current 7-day ticket minus the cost of a current 5-day ticket.

Please see @Robo's Ticket Sticky - there are links to ticket pricing and info on upgrades.

Isn't that only true for tickets bought from a third party? My reading of the Ticket Stickey was that I'd have to pay the difference between today's 7day PH and what I paid for the 5 day PHs I have way back when. I just can't find anyone at Disney who can pull up my account and tell me what I paid for these older tickets.

From the ticket sticky:

If you originally purchased stand-alone tickets directly from the WDW website or via a phone call to WDW,
or at a WDW ticket or Guest Relations window:

If you want to upgrade,
you must pay the difference between what you originally paid Disney for the original ticket,
and the current gate price of the ticket to which you are upgrading,
plus 6.5% tax on the difference price.

Well, you'll just have to call Ticketing and see if a Manager can help in some way or wait until you are at a Guest Relations/Ticket Window. Even with pre-2/17 pricing to current pricing, that's a good amount. Just a one-day upgrade can be close to $70 because the "day of" gate pricing ($20 more per ticket) is used.
