Help!!! Delta changed my flight time!!!

I just got off the phone with the nicest customer service rep at Delta. I told her about the Dilemma and she immediately looked into options for me. I asked her about flying down Friday night and she said she could switch both tickets (my sister and I) to a direct flight on the 29th. She mentioned that Delta is streamlining flights on the east coast. She confirmed the new flights and emailed the new itineraries to me. She asked me all about the cruise and told me to have a great time. Honestly, she could not have been more understanding or nicer. I thought the skymiles ticket was going to be a problem and it wasn't at all. I wish the best of luck to anybody else who has the same issue I did....Thanks for all your help everybody!!!!!

Boy can I relate! Just found out that Delta changed both ends of our flights out of Boston for our Nov 15/22 cruise dates. We had booked with Delta separately from the cruise because we really wanted a direct flight and the times we wanted. All of you flying with two young children understand! Well they changed our flight to MCO on the 15th for one arriving at 2:30. By the time we get the DCL transfer and the bus ride we might make it to the ship by 4:00! Our return flight was for 2:30. They changed this to 11:30 as well. Now we would be expected to be off the ship and on a bus by 8:30 to arrive at MCO by 9:30-10:00 to check in for flight. DCL when contacted said they couldn't guarentee we'd make the flight.

After a sleepless night I showed up at my TA's first thing this morning to go over options. We decided to take a 6:20 am flight out of BOS. It does have a 1 hour stop in Atlanta but we'll get to MCO at 11:30. Catch transfer and make it to the ship by 1:00! Still time to get settled and make some ressies!

Return flight, we opted for the 4:25. We plan on doing the Hyatt Day rate and relax a little before heading home.

All in all not too bad althoug I plan to keep checking back. If they decide to reinstate some of the original early morning non-stops, my TA said she can probably get us back on them but we need to keep checking back regularly.

Oh well, just one more thing to obsess over!

Good luck to everyone else with this problem.

Yes Delta is screwing up alot of things. Four of us are traveling together we had our seats together. In the meantime they have changed our times for leaving and we are all split now, but yesterday I called and got that fixed

I have a question-

We are booked through the internet on Delta Song and already have our seat assignments, how would I know if they were to change the flight or our seats for that matter.

Please Help

We booked are flights on American through Orbitz. Everytime there has been a change in the iternary Orbitz sends a e-mail. Most of the time the changes are fairly minor; 5/10 minutes, flight # change.

We were originally scheduled to arrive the night before at about 8 pm. That gave us plenty of time to get to the airport without having to get up to early. They changed our flight to a later on that did'nt arrive until 11 pm. Much to late for the kids, we did'nt want them to be exhausted on the first day of the cruise.

We contacted Orbitz and got booked on an earlier flight. We will ge into MCO at 5pm. The only pain is now we are going to have to get up much earlier to catch the first flight.

The same happened to us for our May 10 cruise- but I did not find out that they had cancelled the early morning direct flight until the DAY BEFORE WE LEFT!! They had switched us to a flight that arrived in MCO at 2:30 pm. We called to change to something earlier and they didn't have anything direct that could get us there earlier- the only way was to go through Chicago, which turned out to be a big mistake because we sat there for two hours- We barely made it to the ship! I looked up reservations on SWA just to see if we HAD to change flights what it would have been- we could have gotten a direct that would have put us there at 11:30 am. We were flying American- I can tell from our experience that day and from all of these postings why all the airlines are about to go under. I've never been a huge SWA fan, but I think I've changed my mind and may become their biggest fan since they seem to be about the only airline doing most things right these days. The other airlines should take note!!

I'm glad you got it all worked out- it will save you lots of anguish going the night before- trust me on this one. Have a great cruise!!

This is truly amazing to me, that this goes on. I know you all are going to say i'm living under a rock, but flame away. BUT My DH constantly is flying on SWA and he has never booked a flight that has changed (call him lucky) or all of a sudden needed connections. We as a family fly SWA all the time for our vacations (why not its free, for every 4 flights he flies we get a FREE ticket) we have also never had a problem with seating. We have always had 2 rows right behind each other. I sit with one DD and he with the other. We have boarded with a "B" boarding pass and have still sat together. So maybe some (not all) of you who aren't happy with the other airlines should try SWA at least once to see if its better. Flame away about my naiveness or should I say "luck".

I have become a SWA convert. We have always flown Delta Express to Orlando until 9/11. DD was petrified to fly after that and we felt that flying out of Logan would be too stressful.(it was never a joy pre-9/11!) We decided to try SWA out of Manchester. It was great. I didnt know about the boarding part, but we were able to sit together as a family no problem. This year when I booked our cruise SWA did not have their reservations for August up yet( their one downfall, IMHO) After MANY changes with Delta Express/Song, I cancelled those flights and got tickets from SWA. It is well worth the drive to Manchester NH. :D . I dont think i will use Song to fly to Florida ever again.

Southwest is great. And they know how to operate an airline.

After 9/11, they are the only airline that didn't lay off any employees and they are the only airline operating in the black.

They really helped us out in 1999. We had a flight from Providence to Orlando to sail on the 3nt Wonder. We made it into Orlando but the Wonder never made it to Port Canaveral. Thanks to hurricane Floyd, Disney would only bring it as far north as Ft. Lauderdale.
So, we had a 4 hour bus trip. But Southwest offered to keep us right on the plane and get us to Ft. Lauderdale. They were great. Never even charged us anything either.
I fly them all the time now.
