We are getting ready to book our very first Dsiney cruise but have a delima! :sad2:

Let me start off by saying:

I CANNOT WAIT TO GET ON THE DISNEY MAGIC!! :cool1:

I was thinking of booking the 7 night Western Carribean cruise for Sept. 23, 2006 as a surprise for my family. Leaving in 15 months, we can only afford to go on the cruise, which means no DisneyWorld. (Which we've always wanted to do.)

However, if I book For May 2007 I can afford the cruise and Disneyworld. :earsboy: :bounce: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

What should I do! :confused3

I want to go so badly and don't know if I can wait until May. :Pinkbounc

I'm concerned with rough seas in September as I get motion sickness fairly easily. Does the sea seem to be calmer in May?

Which would you choose? :confused3

Could you possibly take 2 vacations? the cruise in Sept and WDW in May? If not, and you really want to do both, I would hold off. I desprately want to go back on a cruise and know that we could have it all paid for before we go, but I am don't have all of the money saved up for the deposit yet so am contemplating whether to hold off. It is hard to wait, I know, but think of it this way, once you go you won't have it to look forward to any more! :flower:

I would pick May only because of the tropical storm/hurricane possibilities in September. Why chance it? You could experience rough or calm seas at any time of the year.

Since you haven't visited WDW, why not consider a land/sea package? You could do both...take a cruise and enjoy a WDW vacation! A four-night cruise aboard the Wonder along with a few days at WDW would be a great experience!</O:p

I know it would be really tough waiting until May when you could be going in September, but I think that if you know that you'll be able to afford to do both the cruise and the World in May, then I would try and wait until then. I am sure that it would be so worth it!
Good luck deciding!

I would choose the Sept as the rates are usually better. Then I would choose the Sept 16, 2006 cruise as it has 2 stops at Castaway. But I have to agree that is you want to do both and you can't in Sept. then I would go in May. Look at it this way, it gives you more time to save!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm still really torn! We have a week long trip planned for Disneylands 50th in about 3 weeks. After vacation, I'll go over things with a fine tooth comb and see what I'm able to swing. I don't want to take anything less than a 7 day cruise as 4 days is just so darn short! :hourglass Right now September is looking pretty decent and the rate I recieved from DU was AMAZING and I don't think I can pass it up!

I know last September was REALLY bad for hurricanes, but did anyone who cruised this last September not experience high seas? :worried:

I'd say to go ahead and book your cruise for September as it could be almost half of what it may cost in May just due to the time of year. But I would seriously consider travel insurance since it will be during hurricane season. Then maybe you can swing WDW in 2007. Good luck!
