Black for a wedding? I don't know...I would think any color but black would be more appropriate but then again I don't go to weddings.

If I were a 20 year old with my 20 year old body I'd definitely wear #2.
I think #1 is pretty and I would wear that now but for you it would depend on how tall you are because a dress that falls bellow the knee will make you look short as it is.

Yep! I totally agree. #2 is my vote.:thumbsup2

Dress opne looks more form flattering and looks like the perfect little black dress a girl needs! hands down first one!!!

Little black dress - is not the definition of dress #1. Around here little black dress hits 'above' the knee. Dress #1 is not for a 20 year old. My opinion. It's clear there are others.:rotfl:

Black is definitely appropriate for an evening wedding :) I was even a in a wedding and all of us bridesmaids wore black ;)

I would say number 2 but I think you said it was black, I'm aganist wearing the color back to a wedding.

I like #1. I think it has a more elegant look.
I agree with a PP who said to pin a sparkly brooch on it..somewhere in the bodice area would be good I think...make it look like the brooch was making the gathers that are there.

No. 2
As for the gift part, i don't see anything wrong with requesting a gift card. If you already have everything for your home, why not a gift card for other necessities? Anything goes these days!

Nothing would be wrong with the couple saying they would really like gift cards, if someone had asked them for gift suggestions. It is very tacky to mention gifts on the invitation, however. You are never supposed to try to dictate what gifts people give you, or even whether they give you a gift at all. Gift preferences should only be given if someone asks for them.

Thanks for all the votes! My next dilemma is trying to figure out if I can get home in time or leave for the wedding late enough to be able to go to an adoptathon weekend for my job.

The bride won't care at all. In fact, another friend of mine (the bride's best friend and the one that is basically planning the wedding) told me that she was all about the black when I asked her which dress.

Since you are only 20 and you said both dresses are in black, If its a daytime wedding Id go with #1 . If its a nighttime wedding, I'd go with #2.

I picked #1 even though I don't know what you look like. #1 is form fitting and it has a great style. #2 would make most people look heavier than they really are.
