Wife and I are trying various combination for our next Disney trip in May/June 2025. Would appreciate expert opinions on what would be the best combination. Our idea was 4 day MK resort + 3 days AKL + 5 days Crescent Lake area resort. I currently have 450 points to spend on this trip. Would prefer not to borrow from 2026 if possible. Poly Tower and BLT Home resorts. So, for BWV and AKL, one bedrooms would be my best bet to book at 7 month window.

Plan A: (Starting at MK)
4 Nights Poly Tower Studio
3 Nights AKL Savanna View One Bedroom
5 Nights BWV Garden View One Bedroom

Plan B:
4 Nights Grand Floridian Resort Studio
3 Nights AKL Savanna View One Bedroom
5 Nights BWV Garden View One Bedroom

Plan C: (ending with MK)
5 Nights BWV Garden View One Bedroom
3 Nights AKL Savanna View One Bedroom
4 Nights Poly Tower Studio

Plan D:
5 Nights BWV Garden View One Bedroom
3 Nights AKL Savanna View One Bedroom
4 Nights Grand Floridian Resort Studio

Changing Poly (or GF) from Studio to One Bedroom will cost me extra 70 points which I am not sure if worth it ??

So fun! Truthfully I don’t think you can really go wrong with any plan but I would maybe recommend ending in a 1bdrm instead of a studio. Everyone says ending your trip in the smallest room always feels a bit less magical.

So for me I’d go for plan A! Poly—>AKL—>BWV. Definitely stay in the new tower as it’s fresh and shiny and has that new car smell and you shouldn’t have problems getting the rooms since you’ll hopefully have new poly point inventory to book with. Although we love them, resort studios are usually less popular that deluxe studios at VGF so you shouldn’t have as much difficulty staying there for a future trip.

If you find you do want to splurge on a tower 1bdrm, I’d put that at the end though. I love being on Seven Seas at the end of my trips! So I’d start at BWV 1bdrm, AKL 1bdrm, then PVB 1bdrm, but I’m with you, I’m not sure it’s worth the extra 70pts when your trip already is stacked really well with greats rooms and should be amazing regardless.

Thank you!!! We are very excited and looking forward to this trip. When there was not much choice, it was an easy decision (as in, at 7 month it was easy to decide BWV 1 bdrm purely based on availability ) but with poly since we have the ability to book on Oct 15, brain tells to go with studio and save 70 points 😂🤣

And another vote for A. We go with my granddaughter 4 and like to start at MK first. The monorail is so convenient for that. We plan to go next August, and I want to do a split stay to try out the new Poly Tower too.

Sounds like an amazing and fun trip! As someone who has also traveled with a 3 and 8 year old, can I make a suggestion? try keeping your split stay to two resorts. the unpacking and moving in and out of three different resorts is time consuming and honestly - it eats into your day because check out times are generally early (11 am or so) and check in times aren't until 4 pm or later at times. That means each time you change resorts, you could quite possibly be without a room for a good chunk of the day - which is not ideal- especially with young children.

I love the resorts you have chosen -if it were me, I would choose GF for the MK resort ( your kids will love the Mad Hatter play area!) and BW villas for Epcot! have a wonderful trip. :)

Thank you. The only reason we added AKL is for our 3 year. Hoping she would enjoy animals and the playground at AKL. May be three resorts is a bit too much and I should revisit with my wife and remove AKL this trip. Thanks again for the suggestion and sharing your experience.

Plan A sounds most realistic.

Plan B and D could be hard to get a studio at VGF without owning there
Plan C may be weird going from 1br to studio. If I plan a split stay changing room sizes I prefer to go from studio to 1br

Thank you !! Majority seems to think Plan A to be the best. Looks like I will lock in the plan on Oct 15 as soon as I can book the tower.

I agree with PPs; end with a 1B and cut down to two resorts. I think AK is really great for your kids' ages, and the resort is really beautiful with awesome pools to slow down and enjoy what it has to offer. Only hiccup is AKK/AKJ are undergoing a refurbishment in 2025, and we have no idea if you'd get a newer room or not.

If you have any babysitting interest/availability, you and your partner could hit the DVC extra extended hours, or whatever they're called, and have a fun date night at Epcot on Monday night and bang out everything late night Wednesday at MK. I think I'd time my Epcot/BW chunk for that time of the week split so that, worst-case scenario, you wheel the kids in a double stroller and bang out GoTG/Ratatouille/Frozen and then go back to the room to crash when you're tapped out if you don't have any babysitting options.

Hmm, Poly tower or GF, tough call! All your options sound good, and there's tons of great dining right there.

Sounds like a great trip no matter what!

Just make sure to book something at your home resorts for the other days as well and then modify soon when it gets to 7 months out from your dates for the AKV and BWV rooms so you have at least somewhere decent guaranteed

Oh…. Had no idea about the refurb. Thanks for the info.
