HELP...DDP if you are staying Concierge???

Help me out on this 'cause I am CONFUSED!!!
We've done the DDP in the past but with the changes in 2008 along with the fact that we are staying at the Poly Concierge in April, 2008...... I am not sure if the DDP is worth it! We love to do lots of Character meals which is why we like the DDP.
GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS!!!

First of all, welcome to the DIS! And congrats on your upcoming stay--we were at the Poly for our wedding/Disneymoon and 10th anniversary and LOVE it.

Generally speaking, most people seem to feel that DDP + concierge is too much food and you should pick one or the other. But if you're going to do one TS meal a day anyway, it might still be worth it for you, especially if you have kids under 10. Adult DDP is $37.99/day; child DDP is $9.99/day. Chef Mickey's dinner buffet is $27.99 for adults and $12.99 for children. The kids' DDP is a no-brainer; for the adults, add in the value of the CS and the snack, and it's still a good deal.

So for me, the big questions would be:

1. Would we still want to eat one TS meal a day with all the concierge snacks?

2. Once we ate the DDP TS, CS and snack, would we still be hungry enough for the concierge morning and evening snacks?

There's no wrong answer--it's just what would work for your family. I could easily see doing breakfast from the concierge lounge, a CS lunch off the DDP, late afternoon snacks from the concierge lounge, a late TS dinner off the DDP, and DDP snacks whenever we felt like them. If we never really felt like them, then I'd stock up on stuff to bring home.

thank you so much for the info! We stayed at the Contemporary last March and liked it okay....but really is a dream to stay at the Poly!
The main reason that I want to stay "Concierge" is for the location and of course "extras" because my Grandmother will be with us....the purpose of our trip is to celebrate her 92nd birthday! All she has talked about is wanting to go back (went with us in 2004) and celebrate her big 9-2! She's GREAT!
My kids will be DD15, DS9 and DD5 and they all EAT!!!
