We need some help. We booked our trip to WDW for May 10-16 only a few weeks ago, we were slow in planning our dining. We have the Disney Dining plan but were only able to get ADRs for lunch and couldn't find an open dinner anywhere. Also we told our son he'd have breakfast with Mickey and no character breakfasts open either.

Should we risk showing up and waiting? Keep calling? I refuse to waste a TS for a QS. Also we would really love to eat a Chef Mickey's if we show up at 7am will we get in?

We booked a rather last minute trip too - we just did our ADR's in mid-march for end of April trip.

We actually prefer lunchtime ADR's with the little ones. I can be pretty confident they will be well behaved earlier in the day, but by evening I have no idea what their mood will be, so I like to get my adr's out of the way early so we can be flexible.

Were you able to use all your credits for lunches, but just not able to get a character meal? You could just keep on trying I guess. Nothing for any of them at all at any meal?

You could always try the campfire thing at night at Fort Wilderness; I dont know what characters are there but I have seen great reviews for it here?

Good luck!

We also decided last minute to eat at Chef Mickey's when we went in November 2005. I called daily and finally got an ADR for dinner three days before! We were already on site and someone made a cancellation. The CM I spoke to told me that cancellations at the last minute are fairly common, but not to leave all your hope to a cancellation. We already had a back up ressie made, but, thankfully, didn't have to use it. However, I did learn my lesson to make ADRs early from now on!

Good luck!

Call every single morning. Even mid-afternoon if you are so moved. People cancel all the tiime. When you get to WDW, call everyday from your room. Things open up all the time.
Have you tried Garden Grill? Mickey should be there...at least he was the last time I ate there.

just keep calling- can you do lunch with Mickey?? try the Garden Grill at Epcot
some don't care for it but if it's characters you want you will get them here
we've always had a good time there and never had bad food-
How about the Breakfast at tusker house?? or crystal palace for pooh & tigger?
Keep calling- last year i called 4 times a day for 5 days until i got the place I wanted for the CP dinner at Epcot so don't give up!

I would keep calling as people cancel ADRs all the time. I would also keep checking once you get there because you never know when a time might become available:goodvibes

I second checking while you are there. Press the dining button on your room phone and ask, each time you check in for an ADR ask if they can check for you (their computers can check any location too) and check with guest services in the park if you have a minute to do so. We've been lucky with some tough to get ADRs this way.

GOOD LUCK!

I would not just show up. I was at WDW this week for business and people were being turned away at Chef Mickey's. Showing up at 7am will most likely not get you a seat and your little one will be more disappointed.

Also, don't forget that there is Beaches & Creme on the plan that doesn't accept ADRs, walk ups only.

I wouldn't just show up, either. No sense in wasting time getting to a particular restaurant just to be turned away.

There's really no character breakfasts anywhere to be had on WDW property for your entire trip? Or is it just Chef Mickey's is full? Tusker House is full for all breakfast times your entire trip? 'Ohana Breakfast w/ Stitch & Mickey? All the resorts that offer character dining? What about Crystal Palace?

I was able to score 'Ohana and Tusker House very close to our trips for breakfast. And the CM over the phone was able to help me and offer suggestions on what was available on our days. We'd been trying for Chef Mickey's for months with no success and finally "settled" on 'Ohana. We LOVE 'Ohana's breakfast now!

What about lunch if breakfast is sold out at all times, every day of your vacation, for all Mickey meals?

Good luck!

sometimes, concierge can get you in--also, go to guest services/concierge everyday and inquire--also, think of other places--Cape May Breakfast--not as popular as Chef Mickey's. Good luck. Elaine (ps Fantasmic dinner packages have 48 hr cancel policy--if you start trying on days 4, 3 then 2 before your dining date--you might snag something there).

Try for Cape May Cafe Breakfast. The characters are here and it is not as popular as Chef Mickeys. My friend went during Spring Break, Very crowded, and got a last minute ressie here no problem!

Also, keep calling every few days. I had the same problem, but with CRT on our last trip. I called every day! My girls were getting in that castle!! Anyway, something did open up at the last second and we got in!:woohoo:

Good luck!!

Did you try Donald's Breakfast Safari in Animal Kingdom? Mickey Mouse is there.

Keep calling every day. Be flexible with times & where to eat. If you told your DS you would eat with Mickey, and it is important, just keep trying every possible restaurant & meal that Mickey mouse is at.

Call every day, try to keep calling multiple times a day. And make sure to talk to Guest Services to see if they can get you anything when you check in.

Don't give up. Keep calling everday, possibly twice a day if you can.

Oh, I wish I would have seen this thread before I cancelled my reservations. We were going in May but have had to change our trip to June, so I just cancelled these reservations. Maybe you can call and something will still be open.

May 12 5:55pm Boma
May 13 7:20am Chef Mickey's
May 14 5:50pm Coral Reef
May 15 9:00am Akershus Princess Storybook breakfast
May 16 5:00pm Tony's Town Square (P&PP at MK this night ;) )

These reservations were for three people. I hope this will help.

I would not just show up- it is unlikely that they will seat you and your son will be super disappointed. I agree with the others, keep calling every day!!
I also agree with other posters, have you tried ALL of the character breakfasts. Chef Mickey's may be booked, but there are others.
Good Luck.

We loved breakfast at 'Ohana, and it was Lilo and Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto :stitch: pluto: :mickeyjum So you might try there!
