My hubby and I get to have a night to ourselves while we are on our trip. I'm torn between the Calif Grill and watching wishes from there or going to Kona...Kona menu sounds better to me but then there are no fireworks...What do you suggest??:confused3

Anyone have an even better idea...I want to do something cool and different but I'm not sure what. Maybe hit the clubs at Downtown Disney afterwards?? I'm really not sure and starting to stress because we can make our ADRs on Saturday!! :woohoo:

We realllllllllly enjoyed Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in March. Took DD to Simba's Cubhouse had she had a BALL.

I think that there is nothing more romantic than California Grille to watch wishes. We are doing it in October.

I may be weird, but I don't like watching the fireworks from the Contemporary. Too much concrete and views of the tops of backstage buildings.

I far prefer the Polynesian beach, specifically the beach in front of the luau, between the Poly and the Grand Floridian.

So for any night where dinner and fireworks were both wanted, I'd choose Kona.

But, I adore the CG, I'd be tempted to eat there and go take the monorail to the Poly beach afterwards.

I think the beach at Poly is a great and romantic place to watch wishes. DH and I have done it following dinner at Kona. My only negative thought is that Kona is very noisy. I don't mean from kids, I mean there is a lot of background noise. You may have to raise your voice to be heard. However, that is not stopping us from going back next trip.

Oh thanks!! So I can eat at Kona and see the fireworks from the beach.

Do they pipe in the music from the fireworks too or is it just the fireworks?? And how do you get to the beach from Kona?? This may be the best of both ideas combined!! You all are the best!:thumbsup2
