My teenage DD did this 3 years ago with a red lipstick! I bought some Zout at the grocery store and it took the stains out!

Good Luck!

Been there, done that...needed to replace the clothes!
When my oldest DD was 4, she had a blue crayon in the pocket of her BRAND NEW winter coat (we had eaten at Denny's and got the crayon from there!). It was winter and the kids had been out playing in the snow. They came in soaking wet and since we needed to go out in a bit, I threw both kids coats in the dryer. I opened the dryer door and could of died!! Her beautiful pink coat had streaks of blue all over it....DS's coat was green with blue stripes!! The dryer was covered in melted crayon. :( I tried washing the coats numerous times, soaking them forever...nothing took out the crayon. I spent hours and hours scrubbing the inside of the dryer. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use it again if I didn't get the melted crayon off!! :bounce:

Oh, the joys of children!!!;)

This happened to me just a couple months ago!

Soak all the clothes in Oxyclean and then wash them. I think I had to wash them twice in Oxyclean and Tide.

As for your dryer, we cleaned it with Non-Acetone Nail Polish remover as suggested by the guy at the laundromat. It worked like a charm. Just wipe it all away. Then we wiped it down again with a wet rag and let the door stay open for a few hours until the smell was gone.

Good luck and don't worry, this too shall pass............

My only regret is that I actually know the solution to this. ;)

Thanks everyone for the tips.I never thought of Oxyclean.I have it on hand too.I found I can't use it due to sensitive skin. But this calls for drastic measures ;) I will soak them before I head out to work.As for the dryer I ended up heating it up and rubbing off what I could. Then sprayed Shout on it.That took off almost all of it.So the next few loads in the dryer will be things that don't matter if they get a hint of red on it :p

Thanks again
Heidi

This works really well, but one suggestion. After using the non acetone take an old white towel(one that you don't care about) and run it wet through a dryer cycle. Unseen residue will be cleaned out and you'll see it on the towel.
