We are staying at Hard Rock for 6 nights at the end of Oct. My husband is a die hard amusement park person. Please help me convince him that by us staying at Hard Rock and having fotl access we do not have to be at the parks at the crack of dawn...and we will still get to ride/do everything. We have 7 days and plan on doing US/IOA at least 3 or 4 of the days. We are also going to Sea World for a day (maybe 1 1/2 days) and Aquatica for a day.

Thanks!
Lisa

Lisa...October is a great time to come to Orlando! The crowds are light (except on HHN nights) and the weather is pretty nice. Just warn your husband...he will be spoiled by the unlimited Express pass access and will have a hard time standing in line anywhere else.

Thanks. So, it is safe to say that he will be able to do everything he wants and not have to be there from open to close? I want to enjoy the resort too.

Definitely. You can assure your husband that he will have plenty of time to do everything in 3-4 days with FOTL. It is the best perk ever!

Have fun. We'll be there in less than two weeks.

Even if you can't convince him before you go, I would think your husband will figure out you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn for the rest of the trip once you've done every ride and show in both parks in one day (which is literally what you'll be able to do if you get there at park opening the first morning).

I was there the first of November last year, and it's a WONDERFUL time to visit the parks. We stayed at RPR, and the FOTL is amazing. There were several of us there for a conference (not held at Universal), and the others were VERY appreciative that I made our reservations onsite. It was great being able to still do everything even while working around the conference schedule. :thumbsup2

let him go for a couple hours and pick you up on the backside of the am when you are ready.

if you were going mid october i would suggest he meet up with me at 8 for coffee at cinnabon at cw and then at the entrance line at ioa at 8:15.....

i know, i know, i'm the last person to ask for support on not going to the parks early. and i stay on site. i'll be at hrh again this year and follow my same game plan.
it's not for everyone but i just love being in the parks when they are empty early morning.
best time to ride and get pics of the place w/out many people in them.

i love to be the first on hulk, the heavy mist on that ride is way kewl....

then i do my repeats and other rides before the gates open to the crowd.

on some dates in the spring, ap holders get to enter the parks at 8 m-f....
