I received a 20% off code and booked CBR regular room for next December for a trip with my mom and daughter who will be 9. I am having second thoughts about CBR after reading these boards. I am wondering if it will be too large a resort and what the transportation will be like. How is the food court at CBR? We will probably having breakfast there often.
My mom and I stayed at POFQ way back when it first opened -we enjoyed it but would like to try somewhere else. CSR for some reason holds very little appeal to me. This leaves POR.
The reason I chose CBR was for the new pool for my daughter. Hopefully it will not be too cold in December to swim. Should I stick with CBR? Change the reservation to a preferred room or try a different resort altogether?

if you like to walk - CBR is a great resort.

my big problem was that mother needs a wheelchair - well some of the paths at the time had sand on them. try to push a regular wheelchair thru sand....

not a good situation.

so are you walkers?

also I travel alone alot - didn't like it a night - some paths were just dark (romantic) - not a good ideal for a solo female.

We've stayed in CBR many times. Especially when our kids were younger because we really enjoy the offerings at that food court. We did request the Trinidad North building..which is located next to the food court. Honestly none of the buildings are THAT far away from the main food court and themed pool area. From what I understand there might be a slightly higher rate for the two buildings on either side of the Old Port Royal..(themed pool area, and where the food court is located.) The CBR is still a favorite of ours. Even when we stay at the WL, we still visit the CBR . My daughter prefers to get her hair wrapped there..and we always eat lunch or dinner at the food court. The CBR, is one of the nicer moderates. Very lush and tropical in its feel. I think you made a good choice, and have nothing to worry about. As it was the first built, the rooms are larger than those at the POR or CSR. While Coronado looked very nice when we visited, we didn't care for the way the food court there operated. Kind of wierd..sort of half food court..half sit down. If we were picking a moderate it would be the CBR..garden view, Trinidad North. We also requested a lower level room as we found there was less foot traffic wandering past the rooms on the lower level, As you can walk directly to your room, where as on the upper level you do have to walk past other rooms to reach your own. That's just us..and probably isn't an issue to most people, but figured I'd put it out there!

I loved CBR when we stayed. The only reason we aren't going back this year is because of the pool rehab. It's a lovely resort, very lush and tropical. We stayed in Martinique in a standard room, not preferred. But we were still only about a five minute walk from the food court. Even if it had been a longer walk, I wouldn't have minded. The food court is great. We only ate breakfast there since we were in the parks for other meals. There's a nice variety, or so I remember. And we never had any problems with bus service. We went during the summer at a very busy time and I don't recall waiting very long for a bus.

Hope you decide to stay at CBR. It really is a great resort.
