So, I just booked a trip on-line and got Pop for 13 nights for $1962.06. This includes free dining and a 6 day Magic your way with park hopper for 2 adults and 1 child.

I called and changed the reservation to 6 nights, free dining, 6 day Magic Your way park hopper for 2 adults, 1 child and she told me it was $1313.44.

Does this seem right to you? I was thinking it would be closer to $1,000. The CM said the room was $82 per night.

I'm just looking for some help with the math please. Thank you!

5 nights @ $82 = $574

$574 + 11% tax = $637

$1962 - $637 = $1325.

Remember the price of your park tickets did not change.

6 nights x $82=$492.00
$492.00x11%=$54.12
total=$546.12

tickets=$708.00

Total: $546.12+$708.00=$1254.12

$1313.44-$1254.12=$59.32

The difference between your quoted price and the above is $59.32, maybe travel insurance?

Hope this helps!

Tickets at $708 do not include tax
46.03 tax
754.03 total

And the tax for Pop is 12.5%, for All Stars its 13%, not the 11.5% of the other resorts on property.

why would one resort have a different tax rate than another? :confused3

just curious....

Most of Disney property is located within Florida's Orange County.

However.. a portion of the property, where the AllStars are located for example is in Osceola county... which has a different tax rate than Orange County.

My understanding is that Orange County has a 12.5% tax rate. This would apply at all Disney resorts except for AllStars which are in Osceola County. Osceola has a 13% tax rate.

I'm not sure where the other poster got the 11.5% number.. but I can't find a resort with that rate. There might be one... or so.. but by far the vast number of Disney resorts are subject to the 12.5% Orange County rate.

so to tally up all in the different posts -
6 nights = 553.50
tickets 754.02
Total = 1307.52 I probably screwed up the rounding somewhere for the other $7.

But I would still call back and verify that you still have the free dining. It wouldn't be the first time that it disappeared during a change.

and to put it the other way, dropping 13 nights to 6 nights is a change of 7 nights, 7 nights at 82/nigh with tax is 645.
