I have a Vacation Package booked with AAA and just found out about DIS point rentals. I can get a 2 BR BCV (which I would much prefer, I think) for 4 nights in Oct. for 128 points and this would work out much cheaper ($300 cheaper)than 2 rooms Carribbean Beach. If I cancel room ressie with travel agent, can I still get the MYW tickets at original price through same travel agent. She may not be too happy with me, but....I guess basically, I need to know if she'd have to cancel my ressie altogether and start with new ticket prices or just cancel room. I know I'll probably end up paying the $50 charge, however, we're way before the 45 pay in full date.Anyone with advice, suggestions, answers, help.Please. BTW, I'd rather not get her involved until I know for sure I can change. Also, would I have to cancel my first room in order to get the Rental room??????????? TIA

If you cancel the package with AAA, it'll be a cancellation of all of the components including tickets. If you want purchase just tickets through AAA, you'd have to ask the agent since I'm not sure whether they sell tickets on their own or not. If they don't, there are plenty of other places to purchase tickets.

If I understand you correctly, yes, you can technically hold on to your reservation at CBR and also have reservation for DVC because you're renting points and that reservation will be under the name of the DVC owner. I'm not sure why you'd want to hold onto both ressies unless I didn't uderstand the second part of your question. In any case, check out the DVC board for more info on renting points and agreements between you and the owner, etc. Hope that helps. :)

I'd hold on to the CBR until I'm sure I'd be able to get a BCV rental. But, your answers did help a lot. Did you ever use a DIS rental? Any advice you can offer on that? Thank you!

If you are talking a BCV rental for THIS October you are going to have a VERY difficult time getting it.

That area is very popular because of the food and wine festival and members started booking for October this year in November of last year.

Yeah--that's true. Although, they did have availability last month for THIS October and I didn't jump on it then. Just asking in case something might be available.

Who had availability? Disney or a DVC owner?

Disney retains 2-4% of the resort to reserve through CRO.

Good luck in finding what you want :)
