Your not the only one. It looks like so much fun. I wouldn't mind having one as a display. Of course, DH would never let that happen so I'll only get one for DD. I told DH about it last night and he thinks we should get one for DD for christmas!

Does anyone know if its durable? Will it last a long time?

It's only sold at the Disney parks, so you won't find it at Toys R Us or the Disney store or Amazon. There are people who have bought it at the parks and are selling it on ebay or thelaughingplace.com, but at a huge mark-up. My DD also became fascinated with this castle while we were at WDW in June, but we didn't have room to bring it home (and it didn't occur to me to buy it and have them ship it home at the time). You can call WDW merchandising directly at 407-363-6200 and order it for the price it actually is at WDW ($69 I think) plus shipping (I purchased both the castle and a monorail set and it was around $15 shipping for the both of them together).

My daughter is asking Santa for both the castle and monorail set from Santa this year. I am planning to get the castle but wasn't sure about the monorail. Is the monorail the same price as the castle? What do you think of it now that you have it? Thanks.

As I said before, my DD's castle is 6 years old and is in great condition, even with regular use from her and her friends. She is very easy on toys, though, unlike her brother;) . It is made of plastic, so it could break. My DD's is on it's own little table and is usually open and set up. When she first got it, it was just on her toy shelf. At 3, she found it awkward to take out and put away all the time, so it now has it's own place of honor, even 6 years later. I think it is as durable or maybe even more durable than the Barbie/Polly Pocket toys out there. I also think it is a great price - I'm pretty sure I paid $80-$90 for it in 2001.

This castle is AWESOME it has a lot of little pieces with it. It was the hit of my daughters birthday party. We have a Royal Ball Disney style and Cinderella herself sent the castle to my daughter. You should have heard the ohhhs and ahhhs when she opened it.

The monorail was a few dollars cheaper (like 5-6 cheaper). The kids haven't played with them yet (they're still in boxes hidden in the closet awaiting Christmas), but both look like lots of fun. The monorail comes with Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc) to use in it, it is battery-powered to run around the track, and the headlight lights up. Both DS & DD frequently talk about hoping to get them so they can set them up and play "Disney World".....I'm looking forward to seeing their surprise & excitement on Christmas morning. :thumbsup2

I got one at the World of Disney store at DtD near the end of our September trip and had it shipped home for $15. Using my AP discount nearly covered shipping. I think it took around 8 or 9 days to get to us here in PA. My mom wanted to buy it for DD 5 for her birthday. DD loves it. Actually, even my teenage boys played with it for a bit, with DD of course, LOL, though I'm sure they'd never admit it to anyone. They were checking out all the things that light up and the button that plays music, the clock, etc. We all were! :rotfl:

Mine or should I say my daughters :lmao: arrived on Friday. It took a little over a week to get here (Canada.) It looks like so much fun, I can't wait to see her face Christmas morning! :santa:

I am going to call tomorrow to order one! Thank you to everyone here. I have been looking for a Cinderella Castle Toy and there are few out there but none of them look like Cinderella's Castle. I am so glad I found this thread. I can't say thank you enough. My 3.5 yo is totally in love with Cinderella and her castle ever since we took our trip in August.

Thanks everyone! I am going to call from work tomorrow! She is going to just love this toy!

:princess:

If you want to order this for Christmas, I would definitely try to order it as soon as possible. Hopefully this year the supply will be better, but last year, I heard availability was difficult through Mail Order closer to the holiday. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of it.

I just ordered one using the phone number provided in this thread. Thanks disers! I'm guessing this toy is pretty popular because the CM knew right away what I was looking for when I said blue box, cinderella castle toy.
It was $69 plus shipping so I paid around $88 for it.

If you are going to order one, I would do it soon because they seem to be very popular and may sell out. She said it will take around 8-10 days for me to get it. Cool! I'm halfway done with my christmas shopping.

I would agree with this!!! Last year we went the week before Thanksgiving, and I decided to order it a little after Thanksgiving. I had the hardest time getting one! They sold out very early in the season. I ended up buying mine on ebay and paying more than I would have had I bought it there and had it shipped, or if I had just called as soon as I got home. I was even calling all of the resort gift shops individually trying to find one.

I will say it was so worth it in the end! The girls loved it and have played with it LOTS since then!

I have to laugh at this.. because our DSs (16 and 22) have 'looked' at the toys their sisters have gotten (5 & 8) they were 'only looking ' of course! ;)
I guess it is nice when they can actually do things together. DS16 bought guiter hero III and he has allowed DD8 to play as well. (he went and bought a second so he would have two guiters... you know so dad and mom could play along if they want....???) :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing!

:woohoo: Well I used the number mentioned in the beginning of this thread and I ordered mine at 9:01 am on Monday! :rotfl: The CM told me it can take up to 2 to 3 weeks for the delivery. I just wanted to let everyone know that they still had them as of Monday.

Thank you to everyone on this thread for being so helpful! The DIS rules!

I'm still patiently waiting for mine. I only ordered mine on Monday too and they still had some left. I live only a little over 2 hours away from WDW so I hope it doesn't take to long to get to me.

How much is the shipping for the castle to Canada? I was quoted $75!!!

I was thinking the same thing now that I have looked at more of them! :) Does anyone happen to know what the shipping to Canada is?

I ordered the monorail by mail

the monorail was 70 and it cost me 75 to ship. And I had custom taxes to pay to the postman when he came here.. And it took less than a week to get here

It was well worth it though.

Wow! It better be some good toy! I decided not to do it, as I just couldn't swallow the price.
