We just returned from a 3 night wonder cruise & 4 night land package staying at the Dolphin. We had a great time although my husband didnt particularly like the cruise part but my kids and I did.
I want to plan another cruise for late October/early November 2006 but I don't know much about other cruise lines, weather, crowds etc. I have family in North Florida I will drive to visit while we are there and will plan on being in fl for 3 weeks.(They are on year round school in CA) We spent 2 weeks this time and it was way too short to do everything we planned. The trip would include myself, almost 38 yr old female at the time of cruise, my Son who will of just turned 13 and my daughter who will almost be 10. They loved the kids club and never wanted to leave.
My choices are another land/sea trip with the cruise part being 4 days this time, an eastern Carribean 7 day on Disney with a short cheap side trip to Disney or cruise on another cruise line for less money with a longer side trip to Disney staying at a resort- but what other cruise line compares to disney?? We did not spend time with the characters on this past trip because the lines were so long and my kids are not into the autograph/pictures.
I like the fact of Disney being for families and the atmosphere of being in "fantasyland". My husband was such a party pooper that I only got to see Disney Dreams after I insisted on going. No game shows, movies etc. I feel like I missed out. I have not cruised on another line so I don't know how they compare to disney. We had an inside stateroom and next time I would at the very least have a window, category 9. If anyone can offer some advice I would appreciate it. I want to put a deposit down soon so I can start saving and planning.
I came home with $500 in traveler checks this past trip and I still have $100 left! I guess I planned it all pretty well but it took me over a year to save it!
