My husband has decided we should take our DD to Disneyland Paris for her 2nd Birthday in October. To be honest this wasn't in the budget for this year, we went to WDW last year and are planning a trip next year aswell, so if we do book this year i need to find a good price.
I have previously stayed at Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay and Hotel New York, I liked the New York best and would love to go there again but when i compare the cost the Santa Fe is obviously alot cheaper. I keep telling myself its only somewhere to sleep, so my question is would i be disappointed with the Santa Fe and wish i'd paid the extra for the New York?

Mmmm, the Santa Fe is a lot further away, and not really very themed. Are you sure yuo can't scrape the Extra for Sequoia? I don't think you'd regret staying there compared to NY, and it's not really any further from the parks, especially with a little one.

The Santa Fe is themed - its Mexican/South American.

If budget really is high on your list, you won't be disappointed with the Santa Fe. I personally love this hotel, the beds are incredibly comfy, and if you take the lakeside walk from the hotel, its only 10-15 minutes stroll to the Village, and then only another few minutes to the Parks entrances.

We're back at the Santa Fe in October, and I'm really looking forward to it :thumbsup2 .

Is Cheyenne a no-no for you?

The theme is fab and my girls loved running around pretending to be cowgirls. Might be a compromise with the theme/price thing.

As with Santa Fe the walk is lovely esp in autumn, the trees and colours were stunning.

It's hard when on a budget. With our Oct trip I had to remind myself that the money I saved by staying at Cheyenne as opposed to the others was at least 2-3 big meals out.

I had to do this when trying to calm my dissappointment for not booking the DLH, although the difference there pays the 2 of us for 4 days at the Polynesian!!

How much of a rip off is DLH?!?! But I still want it!

I think your DD would be more interested in the Park.... Plus, that nice walk back to the Santa Fe will probably calm her down for bed.... :goodvibes I'd imagine it's also probably a bit quieter 'cause its a little further away...

Maybe even the Cheyenne would be a good option?

I think if budget is high on your list, it would be more than fine to stay there... When we went on our coach holiday in April one girl who had been at the Santa Fe was just talking about how much she'd loved the Santa Fe, and that she'd seen all the cool things outside (Like the UFO...).... She loved it.... And we could tell 'cause it was her sole topic of conversation the whole bus journey to Dover!!

I totally agree with that :thumbsup2

I really can't decide, we need 2 rooms as my mum wants to come, so she will share with my son and DH and DD and me will be in the other room. The difference between Sante Fe and Sequioa Lodge for all of us is £236, and the New York is £492 more. That could be our spending money.
My mum stayed at Santa Fe a few years ago with 2 of her grandchildren and didn't really like it, she said the rooms were ok but the breakfast was a nightmare (long queues, dirty tables etc)

I think the £492 could comfortably pay for a lot of meals, etc while you are there... The Sequoia price isn't too bad I suppose...... And there are two restaurants there for breakfast, so theres less of a queue!

Oh, I'm no help am I??!

Whatever you decide, have a great time!

Thanks for all the replies, the way the budget is looking at the moment it could well be Hotel Santa Fe or no trip at all. So I'm just going to book and think that im lucky to be going at all. I know we will be in the parks most of the day and will probably eat in the parks or village at night so it really is only a bed and im sure it will be fine.

The best way to deal with breakfast in the more budget hotels at DLRP (Santa Fe, Cheyenne and SL) is to either get up early and have breakfast at the hotel over and done with by 8am ish (which is when EMH starts in the parks anyway, and with young children, getting that first hour of EMH in is priceless), or request GMF breakfast when you check into your hotel.

That way, you can still get to the parks for around 8am if you want to, and then have breakfast after an hour or so's rides, with your GMF breakfast voucher (you don't leave the park for this, and often the breakfast is taken in one of the restaurants in Fantasyland).

I've never been in the Santa Fe or Cheyenne hotels restaurants after 8.15, as I know it gets really hectic in both those hotels for breakfast after this time in the morning.

I had a look at Marriott Village it looks lovely but its 198 euros a night for our dates and then park passes on top so its alot more expensive.
We did the good morning fantasyland breakfast when we stayed at SL and NPB but i can't see it in the brochure this year, do they still do it?

Yeah, its still on. You can't book in advance though as it isn't every day. You jsut have to decide when you check in which days you;d like to do it. :-)

I am staying at Santa Fe this coming weekend (yey 5 sleeps to go!!!!!) and in a similar set up, my mum is coming and we are having 2 rooms, we will have 3 little ones with us so I will let you know the pro's and cons when I get back. I am planning on having a couple of early breakfasts at the hotel and couple late in the park if all goes to plan.

While I'm on I would like to just say a BIG thank you to this forum, it has been so much help with my preperation, my restaurants are booked, I have my Brit guide and I'm all set. The trouble is I'm getting a bit addicted to this site.

We stayed in the Santa Fe back in January and I found it a nice hotel, DD enjoyed waiting for the characters in the morning and breakfast wasn't too much of a scrum.
We never walked to the park, too cold plus we didn't know the way lol. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and would have no problems staying there again.
