Help....Chocolate frosting

1. Go to the store
2. Pick out can of frosting
3. Pay for it
4. Spread it on cake

LOL, I WISH I could STAND that stuff! I can stomach the cake mixes but not the frosting.

Yup, I second everyone who's suggested the recipe off the back of the Hershey's cocoa box. We call it Crack Cake cuz once you start eating it, you can't stop! It's the best.

I made a chocolate/chocolate cake for my DH last week, but I put a thin layer of raspberry jam in between layers as well. It was divine.

Me too. After making home made frosting, the canned Stuff tastes like chemicals.

Because of this thread I decided to make my own frosting for DS13's birthday cake this weekend. I just have to say Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It tasted so good! I used the recipe from the back of the Hershey's Cocoa can. I used a box mix (Devil's food) but the frosting just made it more special. Everyone thought it was great!

Pikester, next time (now that you've conquered the frosting!) try the cake recipe just above the frosting one. It's delish! The batter is pretty runny but it bakes up so yummy!
