I'm trying to figure out what is the maximum age that a child can order from a child menu and still pay a child price.

Are there any WDW restaurants that deviate from the 3-9 y rule.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. 10 and older is adult everywhere. If you have an older child that prefers the child menu, I would suggest asking about getting an adult portion of the child menu item, if possible.

My DH ate from the kid's menu at PSB lunch but was charged as an adult.

My 10 year old was handed the kid's menu at several restaurants last year.

At a regular 'menu' restaurants, adults CAN order off the kid's menu if they want to, however, if you are on the dining plan, you will still be charged for an adult TS credit even if you order from the kid's menu.

It's the buffets, all you can eats and pre-plated restaurants that they care. You will be charged the adult price for those meals.

Actually, I don't think anyone checks when ordering a child meal at a counter service with cash. I know that recently I have had the child portion of Mickey Waffles at the food court at ASMo and a child hot dog at Casey's Corner - to name a few. (And I was a child at WDW in the 70s. )

If you're using DDP, then 10 and over is an adult. If you're paying OOP, it's less likely to be a big issue unless you're at a buffet or pre-plated all-you-can-eat, where age counts again for sure.

Thank You all.

I guess that next year I'll be using whatever DVC or AP discounts on dining to off set the cost instead of using the Magic yor way dining.

My 10 year old was charged as an adult at buffets, character meals, and family-style dining regardless if he ate the adult food or the children's food. At other restaurants, he was able to order from the children's menu and was charged the children's price. We are AP holders and use the DDE instead of purchasing the dining plan.

We were there last week and my DS10 was handed both a regular and a child's menu at Sci-Fi and Cali Grill. At Kona, he was handed a regular menu only but we asked for a kid's menu (he is a very very picky eater). The waitress gave it to him and told him he could order off of it but it would be a la carte - meaning the drink, app, entree, and dessert would be charged separately. This was fine with us.
