help- car rental Question- nj to disney

we will be leaving for disney in about 4 wks- they will be 7 of us in total driving-

instead of driving in our family van - even though its only 2 years old- we are thinking it might be better to rent a newer van to go down in.

are there any good deals now for the a 10 day rental during the first week in dec ???? what can i expect to pay???

or do you all think it would be just smarter to use our family car- it is an 02 with 24000 miles on it-

Just be sure when you are looking that you rent from one that allows you to take the car out of state. Some restrict the car from leaving. Others especially when renting a van don't have unlimited mileage.

If you have an AAA membership they offer good discounts.

I have an 02 GMG P/U that now has 87000 miles on it and have no problems taking it. Have done so several times and plan to use it in Dec. MA to FL is 2600 miles RT

Just have your mechanic go over it before you leave.

It's a wonder why I have so many miles on my truck.

I drove down a couple of years ago in my 93 Pathfinder with 120,000 miles on it. It did awesome. I took it in 2 weeks before for maintenance and had a trip inspection.

As long as you are good with maintenace you should be all set. Just get the oil changed, etc before you go. I'm more comfortable driving my own car.

We have an '02 camry and it has 70,000 miles on it!! It has all over and in a few days we will take it on it's 4th trip to the world! Before we go we always make sure the oil has been change, tires balanced, etc. We have always been fine and we have no worries taking it this time! I wouldn't rent. Save your money and take your vehicle. We drive down from NY every year and always take our own vehicle.
