Help !! Car rental for late Aug!

Hi all!

I've been trying to get a good rate on a Mini Van rental for the last week in August. (Three kids, two parents, and luggage!!)

We will be flying into Jacksonville on Aug. 24th, then driving down to WDW, and returning the car to the Tampa airport.

So, 9 days with different drop off location, the best I could find with Rental Car Momma site was $397 with Dollar. (Started with $17, and it got a bit better, but still hoping for better...)

Everywhere else, the prices are crazy high- I've seen $699, $829... (do people really pay that much???)


Any and all advice would be welcome!!

I doubt if you will do much better on your rate than you have now...I think it is the different pick up and drop off locations that are getting you...most companies do not charge extra for drop off at Orlando area locations, and a few even allow Orlando pick up with Tampa drop off without a huge fee, but the Jacksonville thing is going to cost you.

If you do not mind the extra hassle you might try pricing a 1 day, 1 way rental from Jacksonville to MCO and then return that one and pick up another one with a Tampa drop off...it might or might not save you anything, but it might be worth running the numbers to see.
