HELP,car dvd question. Anyone had this problem

I hope someone can help me. I bought a used 2002 chevy venture minivan (waner brothers edition) that came with a factory installed DVD player. But it did not come with the remote control or wireless headset. I was hoping to be able to buy a universal remote from the store and use it instead of trying to buy a remote from the dealer. The problem is that I can not find out what brand of dvd player it is so that I can program the universal remote. Has anyone else done this? I've seen several people on the internet with this problem but never a solution. Does anyone know what brand of dvd player it is. Or what have you guys done in this situation. Thanks for any help.

If it was a factory installed one, you should be able to look it up under the make and year of the car I was told. You will find a LOT of that kind of stuff on e-bay. Call your local dealership too. A lot of times they might know someone who has that kind of stuff. A lot of times people "upgrade" theirs out and the service person keeps the old stuff to sell to people like you later. They may at least be able to tell you how to tell what kind it is at any rate.

Where would I look it up on the internet? I went to amazon and found the earphones but not the remote. I called the dealer and they gave me a part #, but it did not say what brand it was. When I was on amazon they had the entire dvd player plus the remote on sale together and it just said that it was a GM (GM chevy minivan). I don't know if that's the brand name or just what type of automobile it was made for. Anyway, thanks for the help. Anymore advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I called DH (works for GM) 2005 and newer have a Panasonic DVD player. He doesn't know before that because he didn't work where vehicles were built before then
