I am taking my DS (4) DB (17) & DSis (19) to WDW May 23-26. It is a HS grad present for DB & DSis. We are staying at ASMovies. We will be getting to WDW on the 23rd about 1PM. I planned on going to Epcot that afternoon. I am trying to decide do I just do one park on the 24th or 2 and if so which ones? It is EMH in the AM at MGM and in the PM at AK. I was thinking of going to MGM in the AM & AK in the PM. DS has been to MK and that is it. DB & DSis has not been to WDW before. On the 25th I planned MK. It is EMH at MK in the PM. We are leaving WDW on the 26th in the afternoon so if we have time I was going to take them to DTD for some shopping before we go to the airport. Does this plan so like too much? Should I only do one park a day? I have been to WDW once when I was 16 and then in March my DH, took us to MK for the day as we were traveling to Ft. Myers beach on vacation. Any help would be great. Sorry so long.

are you all planning on staying together all day?

the older ones would benefit from early hours at MGM as less wait for TOT and RRC, but it tends to be a busy early hour with others doing the same thing and not much else to do to spread them out.....could possibly more effetive to use FP later for those.....

if you leave MGM early to go to late hours at AK you would still be done "early" and not be seeing a fireworks show unless you went back to MGM for fantasmic...????

there are 2 fantasmics on the 24th with the second at 10:30...something to consider....I would have everyone sit down and look at the 2 parks and see what they would like to see/do the most to help you plan...

we thought we would work it kinda like you, but it just didn't work that way. We have dd5 and dd2

We did
Day 1 - arrive at 4 pm, by the time we really got there it was 5 cause of delays. We had dinner and swam.

Day 2 - did water park

Day 3 - did Animal Kingdom, but dd2 got sick so her and I only did a few hours while dd5 stayed with dh to finish the park. Swam at hotel then had dinner that night at Whispering Canyon.

Day 4 - did Magic Kingdom, started with character breakfast, than stayed at the park till it closed. The dd2 only had one nap during the Dumbo ride line!

Day 5 - did Animal Kingdom all day. This was extra magic hours day at night, so we didn't get there till about 11 a.m. but that was ok. We needed to sleep in after the night before being so late!

Day 6 - Epcot in AM, back to hotel to nap and meet up with my mom, then after nap (late nap, from 2 - 5), we went to dinner then Magic Kingdom again. This was the Extra Magic Hours night so we stayed till 1 a.m.

Day 7 - woke up at 6:15 to go to Cinderella Table breakfast. LOL, tired!! Then we did Family Magic Tour (both these are Magic Kingdom). After that we ate a little, went back to the hotel and slept, then did dinner and fireworks at Epcot. We were all tired so didn't stay till the end of Extra Magic Hours like we planned.

Day 8 - MGM all day

Day 9 - Typhoon Lagoon all day, then dinner

Day 10 - last day, but late flight, got packed up, went to Disney Quest and Downtown Disney then late lunch before flight.

We felt like leaving in the middle of the day ate up so much time, in travel and all that.

I would plan the days around the evening extra magic hours and factor in that you will want to sleep in or take late naps on those days.

Thank you for the feedback. I would love to see Fantasmic. DB & Dsis do not know I am taking them to WDW so I am trying to plan the trip without their input. I want to get the most out of this trip as this maybe the only time DB & Dsis get to go.
