Help! Camping at FW in October.

We are camping in FW for two weeks in October and want to go all out on decorating our site. Can anyone who has camped there that time of year or seen the halloween decorations give me any suggestions or tips? what is a hit and what should I avoid. I'm not sure if I should keep it super kid friendly, or if some gore is acceptable.
