My DH wants to go to Universal this summer. We know how hot it gets in Orlando & am worried about bringing our 6 mos old. Does Universal have baby care centers like WDW? If not, are there attractions or areas that I can go inside w/our baby to get out of the heat? Does anyone have any other suggestions or tips? We will be staying onsite. Do you walk from resorts to parks or is there transportation to take you back & forth?

I have been to Universal many years ago w/o kids & we didn't stay onsite.
Thanks!

You can either walk or there is a boat to take you from the resort to the parks. I am not too sure about the baby centers someone else will probably help you there. Lots of shops around to get out of the sun.... Also good deal of rides are indoors.

My tip would be if possible to bring your own stroller since they are incredibly expensive to rent. One with the shade thing on it or put a blanket over baby to protect from sun. Bring drinks for you all in your baby bag as those are expensive too :)

I am going to uNIVERSAL WITH a 4 1/2 month old in two weeks and staying at ROyal Pacific. I just bought a battery fan to clip to the stroller and a Ray Shade from One Step Ahead to help with the trip. ALso plan on doing lots of air conditioned breaks. If I recall the Royal Pacific had alot of shady places I plan on using and cooling off in the water. The boat ride is really breezy and will cool you off as well. If anyone has any other tips That would be great. I don't think they have baby centers like Disney.

The baby care centers are at the First Aid centers. There are 2 in each park and one in Citywalk. You can use the babyswap rooms at the rides. Almost all of them are inside and air-conditioned.

Thanks for the suggestions! What rides can I bring the baby on?

There is the height reqs for both parks. While Disaster is not listed there is no lap sitting... Very strict on that so may be an issue.

Not a whole lot that the little one can do. Off the top of my head I believe...IOA - Cat in hat, Caro suess sel, One fish two fish. US - ET, Jaws, Shrek, T2, Twister, and the non moving Jimmy Nuetron.
