I have been reading way too much on the boards , and am getting confused. My one main question is-- do you order off the regular menu or is there a special menu for DDP. Some menu prices go from 17.95 to 39.95! Is there a price limit on your order? Do you tell your waiter before you order you are on the plan, are things marked on the menu as to what you can order and what is extra and how does everyone on the message boards find out all these little extra things (ex: you can use a snack credit for pastry, or if your order a certain item, it is 5.95 additional) Do we get this info at the hotel when we arrive as to what and where we can use our snack and meals? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Biebz

let's see... there is no special menu for DDP... yes, some entrees are a really good "bang for your buck" and others no so much... keep in mind, though that you will be tipping based on the total bill...

as far as snack credits... most single serve items under $4 is a "snack"... and most stands and kiosks have a little Dining Plan symbol next to those items that can be used as snacks...

when you check in you will receive a packet of info that explains it all... you may also get a helpful cast member to briefly walk you through it as he/she issues your cards... but what you are doing is the smartest thing... learning as much as you can *before* you get there... so as not to be overwhelmed...

any time you are unsure, it's very simple... ASK!!

Most places we've been, the waiter asks if you're on a Dining Plan, but that's just so they can tell you appetizer/entree/beverage/dessert if you're on the Deluxe Dining Plan. If you are in the rare sort of restaurant which has limitations, they will tell you then & there. But most have no restrictions.

In general, you can order any entree on the menu (including the $35 steak:thumbsup2 ) We've had many a dinner for the two of us that the cash price would have been nearly $100...but was covered on the basic DDP.
Same goes with the desserts - you can order the $6 one or the $10 one...whichever appeals to you. Beverages are usually coffee, tea, or soft drinks, but some of thee restaurants also allow non-alcoholic smoothies or milk shakes as the DDP beverage (just ask!)

If you do want additional foods, for ex. you want to try the cheese soup at Le Cellier, you can order it along with your DDP foods, and just pay out of pocket. We love to get the cheese soup as an appetizer to share -- we use the soup as a "dip" for the famous Le Cellier bread sticks which come with the meal, then also order the mushroom filet, smoothies to drink & maple creme brulee for dessert (sometime the chocolate whiskey cake)
