I am trying to price rooms in early December and I can only seem to get a price that includes multi day hopper. I am planning a 4 night trip for just me and DH. We want to do MVMCP one day and are not planning other park days at all, just some resort hopping and relaxing (first solo trip since having kids, and they are in college now!).

I am thinking Swan/Dolphin or Coronado Springs for the amenities and lower price point (would love to do a deluxe, but not in the budget right now). Any idea what I am doing wrong! We have always stayed on points, booked by my mom so this is new to me.

Is your mom a DVC owner or renter? Different website access for the two groups, I believe

She’s an owner. But I am just booking on my own on the Disney website, have never done it before as we have always stayed on points.

Okay so look to the left of the first resort booking page and you’ll see an option for “room only”. You can then compare prices for added different options.

Thanks. I was looking at Swan/dophin that’s why I wasn’t getting the option 😊. I ended up booking the tower at CS. It was about the same price I was getting at CS, ~ $375 per night after taxes and fees. Not sure if I got a good rate for the rom type I’m looking for so I will keep looking.

Swan/Dolphin are Marriot resorts and you will find better prices through the Marriot (Bonvoy) site. They often have discounts that will put them below the tower price. Just make sure you pick the option to see the price with resort fees added on.

if you re still looking, I did a random search of dates in early December, and Dolphin has rooms in the $280- $325 range. That includes the resort fee, but not taxes. This was regular refundable rates. If you have AAA or senior discount even cheaper. I’m staying Dec 3-6, and my total for 3 nights after taxes, with AP discount, is just under $750.

I just took a look and the Dolphin is in the $700+ per night range for my dates (12/8)! The week before it’s $200-300. That seems so strange. The Swan is still mid 300s.

Ever consider renting DVC points? That is one way to stay at a deluxe resort on a more budget friendly price. The wife and I were able to book 2 nights at AKLJ (standard room) for about $50 more than 2 nights at Pop and several hundred less than POFQ would have cost us in May. I know your mom is a DVC owner, but maybe this might give you a chance to see one of the other DVC resorts. Since it is within the 11 months, not all options would be available, but something may catch your eye for considerably less than S&D or CS.
