This is our first trip to WDW and there have been so many positive things written about Cypress Pointe we booked a 2 bedroom for Feb. 20 - Feb 27 or so we thought. I booked through Hotel Kingdom ( got there name from this board) They called and said sorry we don't keep that updated on our site and they are overbooked, they were only able to book the days 22, 23, and 24th, and now I have to find somewhere eles to stay the other days. Or somewhere eles to stay all together. Help if you have any ideas. We booked at a rate of $75 a night and a total of 573 for the week.

Does anyone know another resort that compares price and amenities wise. We really want to have a suites where we can eat some meal in. Thanks for all your help. :flower1:

You can also book Cypress Pointe thru this website.

www.vrivacations.com

I booked thru them for their Destin resort a couple years ago.

So sorry to hear that - very dissapointing. How long after you made your reservation did they contact you to tell you that there was no availability?

That is so upsetting. How long ago did you book it? I booked a 2 bedroom unit for 2/21 to 2/25 about 4 weeks ago. Check out vrbo, they have condos for rent by the owner. Bahama Bat resort looks great. It has gotten great rebiews. Good Luck. :flower1: 34 days to go

That's a huge bummer, mcar33! So sorry you have to deal with this. This is the first time I've read of such a thing with CP here on this board. So you have days before and after that you'd have to find alternate accomodations for? Hmmm...unless you want to move around that much, you may want to cancel them altogether if you can find another comparable place. A resort that we considered (and there's a current thread on it) is the Tropical Palms resort. They have 2 bdrm cottages that would give you the suite/kitchen you want. I'd do some careful research first though, as some have said they sustained some hurricane damage last fall.

Your experience is making me REALLY nervous too...we just booked 12 nights at CP for early April through Hotelkingdom. When I checked out the website that Herc mentioned (vrivacations.com), I noticed that their rates are $330 for the 3 bdrm, which I have reserved at $92+ per night. I can't help but worry that they might call us and tell us that they've overbooked...especially if they could get $330 for our room...unethical, perhaps. But possible...

I havent checked the prices for them yet but how about Fairfield Cypress Palms? you can also book them through hotelkingdom.com & maybe even get hotelkingdom.com to cut you a break if your accomodations were confirmed with CP & then they called to say they messed up. The prices for Fairfield Cypress Palms seems pretty comparable for the rates I've checked in the past. They are a nice resort, I've stayed there before & didnt have any problems.

did hotelkingdom offer you anything else?

They should.

I am so sorry this is happening to you.

I have also used this site
http://www.hotelmartusa.com

ask for Disney area - not Orlando

It is not as great a rate - $66 per night -
All Walt Disney World Condos
Fan Palm Way
Kissimmee, FL 34747
I have not seem any reviews of this

also there are some houses at $65 per night

Thanks to all of you very much, I think is was really hotelkingdoms mess up not CP, so with that said I wouldn't worry for those of you that have reservations with them. I still haven't found another place to stay and am not sure if this is all worth it, this will be the 4th time we have tried to plan our trip the first 3 we didn't go because of the hurricanes and now this. I'm just very furstrated. Oh well hopefully it will all work out. Thanks for your replys. :flower1:

I agree with Spiceycat...have you been back in touch with Hotelkingdom? In my opinion, they should try to "make it right" with you by offering you something comparable at a similar rate. Wow...your 4th time trying to plan your trip?! We almost went in Sept. too when some friends gave us their Skyauction week (long story), but also didn't because of the hurricanes. Now, I'm glad we didn't go then, because we've got a great trip planned this time! Best of luck to you...it really is worth it!

When we booked for Feb 9- 19, we paid in advance. Did you pay in advance? Are they just going to return your money? I'm just abit surprised they can do this if you've already paid for it. If they do this to me, they are going to find me a similar or better rated hotel for the same price or I'll be calling every 5 min until they do, lol. They have had my money for quite some time now.

Sorry this happened, let us know how it turns out.

I'm really curious to know if your had already paid anything. If so, did you get a full refund? I am still fighting for around $150 from Hotel Kingdom and Cypress Pointe. I followed their rules and cancelled way before the deadline and they said they can't find my cancellation in their system. Ahhhh then how did I get a partial refund from Cypress??!!

If you both don't get some good results from hotelkingdom - I will quit recommending the site.

so start a post with your results!

Hey Sandy,

How long after your reservation was made did you receive cofirmation from Cypress Pointe? I made my reservation through hotelkingdom on Wednesday and received an e-mail outlining my deposit and confirmation numbers but nothing directly from the resort yet. Don't want to be caught without accomodations since I waited kind of late to book.

Thanks

I had only given my credit card info, I don't know if it was ever charged for the whole week, they were only able to book 3 of the nights for us and really what good is 3 nights going to be. I have a friend who use to work for hotels.com and she is working hard to get us something. I would not be worried if I have reservations and got conf. from CP, I never had conf. from CP just hotel kingdom, and honestly when you work in the amount of bookings they do this is bound to happen. I have just decieded we are going, no matter what. I'm not going to spend anymore time being upset about this, as I know it will all work out somehow, I have spoken with CP and they are keeping in touch with me to let me know if they get any availablity on those days ( I do appreciate all they are doing, this speaks highly of them) this was never there mess up so it is really nice they are doing all they can. Thank you to all that have replied, I appreciate it. I'm hoping the will be the trip of a lifetime ( as it seems to have taken a lifetime to get planned, LOL)
Thanks again :flower1:

OK, am I the only one confused here? I have never rec'd a confirmation from CP but 3 confirmation emails from hotelkingdom saying they have charged us, first it was a deposit and then the full amount along with confirmation numbers. The full 10 days came off my cresit card already. How long was it between the time you reserved and the time they told you they were over-booked? Did you receive emails stating they charged your credit card? Aren't you concerned they already charged your credit card? Or did they accept your booking and call you back right away saying they were over-booked before they charged you?

jtryan, it was my understanding that you only get confirmations from hotelkingdom and not from CP themselves which really did not concern me until now.

Sorry to be a bug, mcar33 but I think your post has made alot of people uneasy, so many of us have reservations (pre-paid) coming up at CP. I just want to clarify things...thanks :)

check out skyauction.com and see if they have any on there

As I said before this was in know way CP's fault it was hotel kingdom, as they do not keep up to date with CP, they take your reservations and then get back with you or send you a conf. # once they are sure they have space. The problem for me was I called and booked over the phone with Hotel Kingdom and she never told me this was not a for sure things, she never once told me they had to confirm with CP so I went out of town for 1 1/2 weeks and came home to a phone message saying they were very sorry but the property was not available, this might not have been a problem with I had gotten the message right away but having be gone I did not. I called my credit card company and the only night charged are for the 3 they said they could get.

If I have a confirmation # I would not worry. As I said before CP is working hard to keep on top the their cancellation, if they get one for the time frame I need they will call me, I think this goes above and beyond.

Hotel Kingdom told me they have instant conf. on a number of properties, but not all CP being one that they don't, so even though there site says they have rooms available, they may not. Once they contact the property in question and find they have space for your reservation, at the time and only at that time do you get a conf. #. So once again if you have a conf. # I would not worry one bite.

So to all of you with outstanding reservation RELAX at least I would if I were you. I have talked to both Hotel Kingdom and CP more than once so everyone relax and enjoy your trips. :wave2:

We had the same experience as Sandy...we made our reservations last Sat. and received the initial conf. immediately from HK saying that they took out the smaller deposit. A couple of days later, we got another email (also from HK) saying that the larger balance was charged BY THE RESORT. So I *think* we have already been charged in full for the 12 nights (it's DH's card...I'm not sure right now). At the same time, we got a third email telling us we should have received the 2nd email, which included some coupons for our patronage.

mcar33--I hope your friend comes through for you and you find a nice place to stay and have a great trip! Sorry we are a bunch of worry warts here--LOL!, but we've got over $1200 paid for this resort and can't afford to have a problem! :earseek:
