HELP! BOMA or not with 2 younger chilldren

We took our 2 and 5 year old boys to Boma last September. My 5 year old is a very picky eater. Both boys really enjoyed their meal there and I think they ate their weight in chocolate! I think this was their favorite non-character meal.:goodvibes

We put off trying Boma because we were afraid it was too different......but once we tried it, it became one of our favorite places to eat and we go at least once every trip :goodvibes. Plus as others have said.....there is a kids section that has chicken tenders, french fries, mac & cheese, etc that don't have the spices like some of the other dishes :). The buffet is full of variety so even if you didn't like the African dishes, there are plenty of other things to choose from and you won't go away hungry ;).

It was my very picky son's favorite restaurant. The buffet had the kid tri-fecta - chicken strips, pasta w/tomato sauce optional or on the side, and chocolate chip cookies. He also ate the prime rib and rice. There is nothing scary there - I promise!

We've taken our small children there twice and they've always found plenty to eat. Besides there is also the child choiced (nuggets and whatnot). I say go for it! It's kid friendly in respect that it's a buffet and there are lots of other children there. But there isn't entertainment or anything. However you can take them out to see the animals afterwards.

I have more....

Honestly though- the spices weren't that out there. The soups were amazing, just as everyone says. There is a carving station with Prime Rib, there is pork, there is chicken, there is salmon... and when all else fails there are PLENTY of desserts to choose from :)

My kids were 3, 5, 8, and 13 when we ate at Boma (dinner and brakfast took). The 3 and 5 year olds mostly stuck with the kids food- mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets, baked chicken, cookies, fruit. The 8 and 13 year olds tried a lot of items. They liked some of them, disliked others but I think they really liked having options. Since it was a buffet they didn't feel bad if they didn't like something because they could go and get more of the things they did like. It was a success for us.

We did breakfast there and my kids, ages 5 and 7, both loved it. They loved the juice, and both ate their weight in the sausage which they have NEVER eaten any where else. They loved the atmosphere and the fact that there were zebras out back too. They had all the standard fare...cereal with milk, fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, omlets too, so even my undaventurous Dad was happy. And the African fruit salad...heaven!
