Help- Binding Books at Staples?

what do you need a thumb or jump drive for? The link doesnt work?

I think you need a jump drive so you can take it out to staples. It is a "memory data storage device" Kinda like a disk except it hold SO much more. I included a link to wikipedia. You can actually get a small one for free at Target. I don't know how much storage but they have a gift card with a free USB flash drive (same thing) all you have to do is get a $5 or so gift card and you get that for free plus you have the gift card

I just opened Word then did a drag from their original location to Word.

 :confused3 I can't get it to work for me. Thanks for the other help. I am going well over 50 pages, so I think I am going to have to print it myself anyway:surfweb: I keep finding ones I think we may run across!!! I am seriously considering having them sign individual pages and then having the signed ones bound :rolleyes1

One option would be saving the pages you have as a jpeg file, then going to your pictures and copying and pasting into a word document. That's how I'm doing mine. If you can upload your stuff to a photobucket account or something, I'd be glad to put it in a word doc for you and upload it to my 4shared. Then you can just download it from there.

That is just the nicest offer  even after reading that I have over 50 pages!!! I had actually tried the saving into jpeg and then trying to copy it into word and it just wasn't working right (I apparently save it too large). I have been working from an American Greetings card program, then copying it to photoshop elements (I would start there, but I still get confused) and then saving it as jpeg. Anyway, I finally ask DH and he just clicks copy from my AG program and pastes it right into Word and it worked :lmao: I have been trying EVERYTHING but that!!! So I finally got it to work (well he did). But thank you again for the offer!!! :lovestruc That was so generous of you!!!

So, now before I start all this, I should find out how much it costs to print at Staples ::yes::

Ok...I just did the online thing and it looks like it's about 50 cents per page to do it that way. I have no idea if it's cheaper to go in the store or what. I didn't complete it...just did it to get an idea of what I'm looking at.

The online option allows you to select binding options as well. Then you can choose your paper type and weight, the type of binding, whether you want front and back printing, and the cover type. It's pretty cool...allows you to preview and everything. The only thing is, it looked pretty expensive. I've read some other threads where people went into the store and had this done and comparatively it costed more online. I think when you talk face to face to someone, they offer you other options. But it'll give you an idea of what you're looking at.

hth :)

Please post when you find out. :)

WOW! I just called staples to find out if the price online is the same as in the store. It's $.49 per page, even if you do front and back! I am definitely going to have to print them out myself. I have 4 autograph books and 4 journals to do!:scared1:

:scared1: I guess I will be printing myself too! Just one book would be $50! I would have to do two!!!

Ugh! Glad I didn't go to all the trouble (or have you go to all the trouble) of getting my documents into word format!!!

If you have an Archivers in your area check out the 6X8 memory books they have. You can get one for $1.99 and you can remove the paper and print the autograph pages on your printer and rebind. They have 35 pages per book, its not a bad option. Thats what I am doing i bought 6 of them (I have to do two books) and just plan on printing out at home You can also customize the cover with stickers etc or just print something out to cover it

I saw that in your other post and ran to check to see if we had an Archivers in the area, but nope, there isn't one in the entire state of Florida :furious: I do think you are on to something there though! I am going to have to check the other craft stores and see if I can get as lucky!!!

Also the passport that I printed of Natalie's should be 4 pages for each country.
The page for the stamp I put first.
Across from it I put the Pavillion page.
On the back of that I printed Message from Cast Member page
Then the castmember page
My very last page of the passport is the Mickey and Minnie firework page.

I have a couple of questions about the passport pages:

1) what goes on the Pavillion page?; and
2) what goes on the castmember page?

This will be our first trip to WDW so I'm still learning the ins-and-outs of passports, autograph books, etc.

Thanks!

That's ridiculous, that would be soooo expensive! :scared1:
You would think that a place that has printing services, would be cheaper. :confused3

Instead of using a jump drive could I also burn them on a CD to take to Staples?

:scared1: I guess I will be printing myself too! Just one book would be $50! I would have to do two!!!

yup...I checked around. There are some places online that will do it and it will be less expensive, but I've never heard of them and I don't know how much I trust them. I'll probably be printing them out myself.

I saw that. Great idea! We have a Hobby Lobby, which has a lot of scrapbooking supplies. I have some old 7x7 books from creative memories (think I even have a disney one) That would work well. Thanks for that idea! :)

Photographs!

I designed them to put a photo of DD in that country on the Pavillion Page and a photo of her with the castmember from that country on the castmember page.

Sorry that I am just getting back to you. I see that your question was answered by the pro herself.;) Right Natalie. I see you are leaving in just 10 days. You are going to have a ball using Natalie's design.I know we don't leave until Aug. and ds just can't wait.

I printed my cover on cover stock 110. The rest of the pages were printed on 97lb. paper. You can use any type of paper you like. I wanted ds to feel comfortable carrying it. So I made it not to heavy but sturdy enough to carry around the parks.
