help! best general requests for PBH garden view to increase chance of upgrade?

well i thought i should start a new thread that's more specific to my question that i posted in a different place.

we have a standard garden view room booked at PBH.

i've gathered from posts here that the West Wing rooms are closer to the beach pool and boat dock.

so we were thinking of calling PBH to add room requests of:
West Wing
King Bed

is there anything else we should (or should NOT) request, to try to increase our chance of getting an upgrade w/ Loews first (we're only blue level members).

hope someone can help us out soon! 'cause we're leaving in less than 30 hours!


(btw, where are most of the standard garden view rooms located anyway? and which section of PBH is non-smoking, and which is smoking? thanks.)

Since you have a gardenview booked chances are pretty good for a bayview or even a poolview upgrade. If the hotel is sold out or even at high occupancy of course the upgrades wont be plentiful. Our best luck for upgrades have been at Portofino and it was using the loews blue card too
The room breakdowns look something like this:
There are 133 gardenviews
302 Bayview rooms
244 deluxe poolviews
50 Suites
Your requests sound good to me! At check-in just ask if a room upgrade is available.
Any room is a beautiful one at this hotel. Have a wonderful trip

I, too, am hoping for an upgrade. I have a Deluxe Poolview Room reserved. We are Loew's First members (Blue) and I received a postcard several months ago offering a complimentary upgrade to a suite (if available). I am keeping my fingers crossed. Since we are in a Deluxe Poolview, does anyone know what our upgrade might be (if it happens)?

I will be checking in on my birthday - do you think that might help?

btw, is there a certain Wing or a certain floor that is considered the smoking section?
we'd want non-smoking, so just trying to get an idea of where to avoid.

also, which category of rooms have balconies?
aren't there only a few rooms at PBH that have balconies?

also, i was looking at a small pic of a PBH map.
am i correct in thinking there are only 3 Wings at PBH?
it looks like East Wing is by itself, and then West Wing has a little section that branches off and is called Villa Rooms?

what category are Villa Rooms?

which Wing has the smallest # of Garden View rooms?

okay, anyway, i should stop obsessing over something that doesn't really matter and go pack!

I have a deluxe poolview reserved and am HOPING to get an upgrade. If not, I'll survive. After all it IS the Portofino!!

I've made my room requests for the exact rooms Pof6 suggested so I hope I at least get them.
