Help! I am having a hard time deciding on my ADR's and would like your opinions on the best ADR's for children (DD2and DD9) I know we will want to see the Princesses and we will also need to see Mickey (DD2 is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan) we would like to do as many character dinners as possible. My husband and I aren't picky so we want to chose resaurants that our children will truly enjoy! We will be there for 7 days. My sister will also be joining us and she is not a buffet kind of girl so I know that will limit some of our choices, (might have to make her an ADR at a different resaurant, LOL)Thanks for your help!Oh I should mention we will be on the DDP!

We did Akershus for lunch last time, princesses were great, the food was different (read: we didnt like it), we are going back to try breakfast next time. There is a buffet for starters, but your meal is served so this could be a compromise that would work for your party!

We also loved CRT, we did lunch & the whole family loved it, food was better than expected, atmosphere cant be beat, we prepaid as they charge your credit card when you book, DH liked it so much he tipped the waiter double b/c it was such a magical experience. This is a must do for us again.

We also did the My Disney Girls Princess Tea party, this was pricey, but its sit down, and a whole experience, probably the highlight of our trip!

Have fun!

If you want to avoid buffets:

1) Garden Grill in Epcot for Mickey
2) CRT in Magic Kingdom for princesses (but only breakfast and lunch ... dinner is just Cinderella)

My DD4 LOVED CRT last time for dinner, she so enjoyed seeing Cinderella, but the other princesses weren't there, so next time we're doing lunch or breakfast if we do CRT again. I want to try something different next time though so we might try the Storybook Princess meal in Norway as mentioned by a PP.
I know you mentioned no buffets, but my DD4 LOVED the Playhouse Disney character meal at Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios, it was a wonderful meal, lots of choices (DD is picky and doesn't eat meat) and the characters were great!
I'm actually going to do more buffets next time so that she'll eat! A lot of the childrens menus stink at a lot of the served restaurants.

I suggest Akershus for breakfast. The princesses were wonderful and the food was great. They had fruit, pastries and stuff like that on a buffet that you went up to on your own. But they brought plates of eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes (yum!) to your table (also bring you coffee and juice). They will bring you as much of those things as you like - so it's a buffet in that sense, but it feels more like a sit-down since they bring it to you.

You will see 5 leading ladies at this meal - we saw Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Snow White and Mulan (it changes though).

I think 1900 Park Fare sounds good for dinner - Cinderella and her prince and I hear the step sisters are a riot! I would like to try that meal myself. I don't think that is a buffet, but I could be wrong.

1900 Park Fare is a buffet, as are most character meals except as noted by
previous poster, and also Liberty Tree Tavern (Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip or Dale) and Ohana's breakfast are served family style.:)

I'm not against planning a few buffet meals, my sister is VERY picky so I know I will not be able to accomadate her all of the time! We plan on the princess breakfast (Norway) and the Garden Grill. I have to fill up 5 more days though! LOL

Our favorite character meals are the following:

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort for breakfast

Cinderella's Royal Table in the MK for lunch

Crystal Palace in the MK for lunch

Garden Grill in the Land at Epcot for lunch

Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK for dinner

We also like Ohana at the Poly and Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. For our Fantasmic Dinner Package, we eat at Mama Melrose's. This year, we're also trying Coral Reef and Le Cellier.

Some of our favorites:

Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway
1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian
Liberty Tree Tavern (family style) in MK
Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary
Ohana Breakfast (family style)

Here are some ideas. . .
Akershus(breakfast)- My daughters just loved this meal the food was great, and there was about every princess with great character interaction!

Cinderella's Royal Table (Dinner)- It's just so magical to be eating in the castle. Once again my daughters loved this! We did this for breakfast and lunch and we didn't care for the food we much better consider the dinner. We saw Cinderella, the fairy godmother, adn Prince Charming when we went a year ago?

Coral Reef- My kids really enjoyed this. The food is pretty good and I'm sure your daughters will like seeing all the sea creatures and scuba divers in the tank. (Dinner)

Crystal Palace- WE JUST LOVE THE CRYSTAL PALACE! :goodvibes The characters there is the pooh gang. The food is the BEST and every meal there is a great experience so it doesnt matter which you pick. Yes, this is a buffet but I guarantee your sister will love this.

Cape May Cafe (breakfast)- This has great food! The characters include minnie, pluto, goofy, and I think Mickey, and also Donald. The characters here are so cute especially since there in their swim suits.

Beaches And Cream- This would be a good place for dinner or lunch. It is just a typical ice cream and burgers place but it is totally good. The decor is so cool in their too! We always get a kitchen sink! But I would recommend this.

Hollywood Play And Dine- I have not been to this but they say that for breakfast/lunch they have the little einsteins characters so if your daughter is into playhouse disney. . . .

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review- I couldn't remember if you said you were on the dining plan but this is two credits. This is a dinner show that is really funny. It's fun for all ages and the food is BBQ whicg my family like.

I hope I helped you a little bit with my suggestions. . :cool1:

We have two very girlie girls aged 2 and 12 and last summer they loved Akershus (breakfast), CRT (lunch), CP (dinner) and Cape May (breakfast). Best character interaction was Cape May, hands down, they both had an absolute ball there:thumbsup2

We did Askerhaus for lunch and we enjoyed it
Hollywood & Vine was great for my 4 and 5 year old might be a little too young for your 9 year old but she can dance and sing
CRT for dinner we are doing lunch this year because at dinner its a show with the fairy godmother which is nice but not a lot of character interaction. Dont get me wrong the castle is great at night but not much for characters
Chef Mickey is great
If you like comfort food Liberty Tree Tavern

Buffets seem like the way to go as all the character meals seem to be some sort of version of buffet. My personal opinion is have your sister rough it for the kids a few times and try a few restaurants like Coral Reef which is a regular restaurant but might be interesting to kids.

We were there in July wilh a 3 and 10 year old girl.

We did and they LOVED:

Princess breakfast in Norway. It is only 1 credit, while the cinderella is 2.

Crystal Palace breakfast: Pooh and his pals.

Play and Dine breakfast: Einsteins, Jo Jo

Chef Mickey's Dinner: Mickey, Donald, etc.

For the breakfasts, try too get a 10:30 seating. The places will start to empty and you will get more character time with no loss in food quality.

Park Fare maybe buffet but it is really good buffet. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I think your sister would have to agree after eating there. We've done breakfast and dinner, but if you're on DDP I would do dinner.:goodvibes

We also liked 'Ohana's breakfast (we didn't like dinner there:confused3 ) Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch

LTT Dinner-Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale

PSB-though this can be a very hectic character meal-I've always felt very rushed here. :confused3

One that's not character but is very enjoyable is 50's Prime Time Cafe. The wait staff makes all the difference. And the decor is super cool! Very fun for the kids. A few years ago my DD wanted to tell our server a joke so she lead her over to another table and had her tell her knock knock joke to our "cousins" from Iowa. And last time our server tried to force feed her her french fries and then since she didn't eat them, she had to help clear the table. DD8 had a great time!

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace for breakfast are winners in my book. My DH doesn't like buffets for meals other than breakfast. Maybe your sis will do better with breakfast buffets. We have always found the food to be very fresh and love the fruit & made to order omlettes.

My 4 yr old Loves these..
Hollywood & Vine play and dine buffet with the little einsteins and Jo Jo and Goliath
Chef Mickey's buffet
Cinderellas Royal Table
1900 Park fair with cindy & prince charming your 9yo and the adults will love the banter that goes on!!!
Cape May Cafe buffet
Liberty Tree Tavern... table service but I think the menu is pre detemined, thanksgiving style meal served family style
they are getting tired of Ohana.. but many like it

Most character meals are buffets... I know you love your dear sis, but this is a very special expereince for your children and she may just have to stick it out. The way kids experience the disney magic doesn't last forever... let them experience it while they can... send dear sis to the singles board and have her make some friends!! :)

see the link below for pic's of many of these resturants..
fun for little ones

enjoy!

How about Park Fare for breakfast? Alice and the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Tigger and Pooh! Plus the food is good. :thumbsup2

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I was just thinking that my sis will have to suck it up or eat somewhere else! Everyone else in our party would be happy to buffet it and they will all want to see Disney through our girl's eyes! I'll just schedule a couple of dinners that are character and buffet free for her, but for the most part we want to eat character dinners(or breakfasts, lunches) for the girls to enjoy!
