After reading this board, I am now considering arranging for private transportation between airport and boat but I am not sure what you do with your baggage--do you need to drag it around with you until your room is ready? Sorry if this has been addressed before, I'm a newbie! Any info on this or use of private transfers v. DCL transfers greatly appreciated, thanks!

The privately scheduled drivers who pick you up at the airport will load your luggage into the vehicle. Then, at the port, they unload everything, and the port porters will take your luggage (don't forget to have some cash handy for tips), and you you won't have to deal with it again until you're in your stateroom (I will note that I'm not sure if different security measures might have changed the port procedure since we were last there two years ago). We like to take a carry-on bag on the ship with bathing suits and anything we would have to have in the event our luggage didn't get delivered until early evening, although that's never happened.

HOw much would you tip the port porters? I am sooo glad you said that because I hadn't even thought about that! And see, I thought I had thought of EVERYTHING!!!

What about the Disney luggage tags that came in the cruise docs? Do you need to make sure that those are on your bags when you give them to the porters at the terminal? I would think so, otherwise how would the DCL staff know which cabin to deliver the bags to?
