My dd is almost 4 months and slept really well in her pack and play for only about a month! I think it's because she's used to sleeping on a crib mattress, so anything else seems hard and uncomfortable to her. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do or a product that is more comfortable for her to sleep in when we travel?
We are going to Hilton Head soon and the resort cribs are pack and plays. I'm trying to think of a solution before then. Please Help!

I can completely sympathize with you. Even as a newborn, my daughter would never sleep in a pack and play. She was 15 months the first time we stayed at Disney with her and every night was a struggle because that's all they had. It helped for me to lay on the regular bed with her until she fell asleep. I had to let her sleep for a little while to make sure she was fast asleep. Then I'd slip her into the pack and play.

Have you looked into renting a crib for while you are there? If you were staying in Orlando, you could use (A Baby's Best Friend). I don't know if there is a similar service for Hilton Head.

A second option would be to cosleep with her using something likethis.

Hope that helps.

No help here. DD would NEVER sleep in her pack n play. All she would do in it was scream. It wound up being a storage spot for toys in our house. When we traveled, we'd put her in bed with us. Traveling was not fun when she was a baby.

The quilted sheets sound like a good idea for the hardness. Good luck!

HUGS I had the same issue only my son was 15 months! He was always a great crib sleeper but hated sleeping in the pack and play. Well the first night of vacation was horrible. He screamed and was up most of the night. The next he was fine from then on. Good luck. I would say every day try and put LO in the pack and play even if just to make him more familiar with it.
I have also heard the mattress thing from toys r us is good since it is more like the crib and not just a hard board.

We bought an egg crate mattress topper & cut it down to size for the pack-n-play (actually a few inches shorter length & width so the sheet wioll fit), then used the quilted sheet a PP mentioned. It worked for us. Good luck! :flower3:

I also agree with the quilted sheets. They worked fantastic for our with DD. What I would do is put that on and then use a fitted sheet on top of that. Once we started doing that she was fine and went right to sleep. It is always the first think I pack when we are going away!

We were in Hilton Head last May at my mom's timeshare and she was able to rent a full size crib for the week. If you go online I'm sure you can find the service. A lot of the ones rent bikes, beach gear, baby gear, etc. THe crib was very clean and it worked out great! I know what you mean about the pack and play, my 18 month old DD just spent a good part of 5 nights in bed with us at Disney because she was not sleeping well at all in the pack and play. Renting the crib at Hilton Head is worth it so YOU will sleep!

Joining the club...we learned the hard way around 8 mos that DS would NOT sleep in a pnp at all. We have rented cribs for all of our WDW visits. Also, we were able to find an agency in Denver and Tampa for other misc. trips we have taken to rent cribs as well...I imagine there is a service in HH? Try doing an internet search. That's my advice...rent a crib!!!! Well worth it...

If your room has 2 double or queen sized beds, and it's just the 3 of you: how about a pair of bedrails for the 2nd bed?

A friend of mine *highly* recommends the Peapod mom2aiden posted in her 2nd link above.
