Well in my packing I forgot the charger and of course in Kodak land (WDW) my Canon is strange to say the least - we need ideas!!! We are only half way through our trip and don't want to use disposables - digital snob!!!

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

You may want to call some local camera stores or places like Best Buys. If they have a charger for your camera you could take a cab to pick one up - or , better yet, see if they'd deliver.

Buy a Kodak camera. Mine can run on rechargable batteries or reg batteries. Plus I like the easy share system. Sorry I'm not much help. I could fly down and bring you my camera. I don't know if that would fly with my better half though.

Not sure what model you have... I'm assuming you use 4 AA. I don't think you have many options unless you leave the world and find another store. I have found the disposables last quite a bit longer than the rechargeables and a 4 pack would probably get you through your stay unless you use a lot of flash.

Good Luck :thumbsup2

I think I remember reading that the camera center at EPCOT will recharge your camera batteries for you while you wander the park, so that may be an option for you if you're heading to EC today.

Well, if you're talking about a charger for a DSLR like the Canon Rebel XT or something then I think you're stuck and you may have to buy a small digital on site or rent a car to go shopping off the property. If you're talking about a little digital camera like a Powershot that takes AA's then you may have to suck it up and buy some on site. I have found that although they're really expensive, the Titanium ones really do last a lot longer in my Canon Powershot than regular AA's. I usually take both my DSLR and my Powershot on trips so we have a backup camera...AND I take extra cards. I currently have a problem with my lens for my Rebel and have been putting off taking it in 'cuz I know it's not gonna be a cheap fix. Digital photography is great but can be expensive in a pinch.

If you can't find one locally then I would order one from Amazon and get it shipped overnight. Then pick up some of the digital disposable cameras to use until the battery arrives. (IF you are going to be there several more days - if you go home in 2 days, then it likely isn't worth the trouble/expense.)

We forgot our camera once last year, drove to Best Buy (it was pretty far-20 min?) and bought one. Returned it at Mpls Best Buy with a 15% (I think)restocking fee (we had 14 days to decide). Course we also bought a bigger card that matched our camera. Kind of expensive but they didn't seem to care at all. If you go that route-you should call ahead and verify this is still possibe though-would hate to waste your time.

Or just go nuts using your photopass card, then buy the CD at the end of your trip.
Expensive, but the photopass card is water and shock proof and never needs batteries!

Of course for the same price as that CD you can now buy many respectable digicams.

I'm not sure how their inventory moves at WDW. I used to have a Kodak, and recall seeing it for sale a WDW, at full orginal MSRP (much more than I paid) 3 years after I bought mine,

Battery issues is why I made AA usage a must in selecting a camera. Too difficult and expensive to deal with a custom battery pack.

Thanks for all the reponses - mine is a powershot with the battery pack - I did have one with AAs- Oh how I miss it now!!!! We are going to look around and in the meantime DH remembered our camcorder can take photos -so although not the quality of the regular one we will have photos which is all that matters - oh and I remembered the charger for that!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This may be a longshot but you could keep your eyes open for someone using a similar camera to yours--particularly around your resort. It might take a little effort (and quite a bit of good faith) to make arrangements to borrow someone else's charger. But perhaps someone will be able to spread a little magic your way.

Try http://www.batterybank.com. They're in Apopka and they specialize in camera batteries and accessories. I don't know if they'll have your charger, but it's worth a call. My son has used them a couple of times.
