We have an Arien's snow blower with an electric start. It's full of gasoline, the lines are opened, we have pressed the primer thing and its on choke. It won't start. Considering all that, we should be able to smell gas which makes me think that the fuel line might be gummed up or something. Is there a gasoline additive or something we could do to 'improve' the situation. Thanks,

I use this, Dawn, http://www.goldeagle.com/sta-bil/index.htm but it is meant to be used before storage. If fuel line or carburetor is gummed, may need service. Good wishes, and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Dan, you are right. Usually I run the gas out before summer but I didn't last spring. I called my neighbor across the street who is really good with small engines. (DH would never call anyone for help). Over the phone he said that it was the little "ball" that gets stuck in the carburator and so no gas was getting through. He and DH took it apart, fixed the pull cord that broke two winters ago, cleaned the carb, fixed the little ball, adjusted the idle, and cleaned and dried the spark plug, all in about twenty minutes. I was envisioning having to haul it to the shop, wait until February to get it back and spend about $250 to bail it out. I am very THANKFUL this Thanksgiving Day!!!
