Help - any car mechanics???

My son is down there working and his car won't start. Any mechanics that can help him out?

Need to know alot more than just wont start, is it trying to turn over or is it just clicking when he turns the key. The first thing to check is the battery if its dead or just bad.

it isn't a dead battery the engine is trying to start but won't.
