help and unsure?

I have a RCI timeshare and in the catalog of places it can be used, WDW is listed. Im rather confused as to how all this works. If I am in the wrong location please direct me to the correct location. Do I have to trade, swap, buy? Please help.

You need to either log on to your RCI account or call your timeshare to see about exchanging into DVC.

TUG is probably more helpful.

You need to find out how many points you would get in trade for depositing your timeshare. Sometimes you would have to deposit multiple years of your timeshare to get enough points to get a 1BR SSR (which is 95% or so of DVC deposits right now). Then you would need to plan in advance - probably at least 8 months or so (but TUG has more specifics).

In addition to RCI fees for membership and trading, you would owe Disney a $190 fee upon check in.

If you don't mind staying offsite, there are some offsite timeshares that are still very nice and easier to trade for.
