We are planning a surprise trip - for january for the kids! I know this has been asked time and again - But THANKS in advance for humoring me!

So Im thinking Dec 31 - Jan 7 (I really think being in Disney for NYE/Day would be awesome) BUT Im also hoping for Free Dining...BUT it most likely wont be for that ONE day - I assume we have to check in ON the day for FD... If I book can I change to add? and move dates if needed? or should I wait the few weeks and see if they add the promo -

Another option is we have a 2day vacation getaway - of course I need to send off for that now - But I can do the 31st/1st somewhere else adn then move to disney...problem with that is Id have to rent a car...maybe I should give up on NYE - is it super crowded anyway? anything extra special they do?

Your check-in day has to be within the free dining period. Then, even if you stay beyond the end date, you get free dining for your entire stay. Example: Free dining ends on Dec. 20. You check in on Dec. 20 and stay until Jan. 7. You get free dining through Jan. 7.

It does not work the other way; you'd need two separate reservations. Example: Free dining starts Jan. 2. You check in Dec. 31 and stay until Jan. 7. You don't get free dining at all. If, however, you check out and back in on Jan. 2 on a separate reservation, you get free dining until the 7th.

Does that make sense?

Ok yes I got it!! I may wait and see, all the changes make my mind crazy!! But good to know I can do a room only and then add a package later.
