Help! Am I doing this wrong?

I made shirts for my family last year - white 50/50 poly-cotton. I used Avery tshirt transfer paper, and made some decent looking shirts. My problem is that after 1 wash, the shirts look like cr*p. A lot of the design had cracked or pealed off - so the shirts look really old after 1 wash. Any tips? I think I am doing something wrong, or does everyone go through this?

You are supposed to wash on gentle on COLD and hang dry...also turn them inside out....they are high maintenance.

That said, my kids are still wearing their shirts from 2 years ago [Avery]...once they get puckered looking they pretty much don't get worse. If that makes you feel any better! LOL.

Print n Press are even WORSE...they're so thin...YECK....

I've had the best luck with the ebay seller "Mariettaangie" that was recommended on here.

Of course, I'm down to 2 SHEETS !!! And I still need to make 5-6 more shirts!!! UGH....

My designs made with dark transfer paper bought online at printonit.com, look very good after quite a few washings now. My husband does the laundry, so I'm sure he's not even doing anything special to care for them. I'll definately use them again!

I am glad to hear that you would use paper from printonit.com! I had been curious about their quality. I happened to be reading this thread and saw your above response. I feel better about ordering from them now!! Thanks again!
