Am thinking of changing ressies from BWV (home) to VWL (never stayed there b4) We have 3 yr old DD who loves StormAlong Bay, just wondering what the kiddie pool and slide are like at VWL. She loves waterslides (the small ones of course). Any help would be appreciated whereas I will be changing ressies sometime today. (wish i had thought to post this earlier  ) Thanks for input

We stayed at the Lodge in Feb. The pool is very nice, nowhere near the size of Storm Along Bay, of course. It does have a slide, not huge but adequate. The one afternoon we set aside to hang around like slugs - LOL - the pool was so crowded there were no chairs, so we had to sit on the beach. This was okay, but the sand got things very messy. I think this must be something of an ongoing problem for WL because the pool area is just not huge. We walked by the pool at the Villas, and it seemed less crowded. Of course, that's why it's the 'quiet pool'.

wlv is very relaxing place and was voted most romantic resort in disney

is it still romantic even w/ a three yr old? May actually think about babysitting serv's while there. Just want to make sure she will have plenty to do....they don't have a rec center for the kids there do they? I can't believe how "torn" I am between this!!

used a life vest when going down the slide in early Feb. There is a play area on the beach--a jungle jim type thing. The water parade goes by nightly. There is the water gusher that goes off on the hour, weather permitting. We enjoy the villas but for the points we will be staying at OKW in late October...the extra 4 points per night for a studio adds up when you are staying 10 nights. I don't think that you will be disappointed staying there with your little one. We had a blast.

bwv owner, stayed at wlv in Feb. loved it but was dissapointed in pool slide. My six year old went down and another kid went immediately after her as they do not regulate it like at bw and I believe stormalong bay, which my daughter loves. Anyway this kid went down too soon after my daughter and this resulted in my daughter getting kicked in the head as she resurfaced. Then the lifeguard reprimanded my daughter for going down head first, which of course she did not do, I was watching the whole thing. So I had to politely set the lifeguard straight, and she didn't go down the slide again.

Britt's mom, we own at the BW and Okw, and you can't do wrong at the WL. Our kids love it there also. Remember to take your 3 year old out to the lake at around 9pm, (you can ask the front desk the actual time). The water pageant with the lit up barges are really cool to see for a little one, I still get chills,(it reminds me of when I was younger, staying at the contemp. with my parents.) They have a nice game room, but no community hall yet. Let us know how you like the villa side of it. Have a great trip.

And we had a 4 year old with us. She LOVED the pool. When asked about her favorite thing about WDW it wasn't meeting Mickey and Minnie, it wasn't the princess breakfast at the castle, it wasn't afternoon tea at the grand floridian... it was the "hotel" and the "pool". Although the pool was kind of crowded one of the times we were there, we didn't have a problem with it seeming to be overcrowded.

I am a tried and true BWV fan (that's where we own and we LOVE it there) but VWL is a very close second, esp if you want to do a lot of lounging around. I think the pool's atmosphere is a lot more relaxing than at that hideous clown pool at the BWV (just about the only thing I don't like about it, but thank goodness for the quiet pools!)

I definately think that VWL is a great resort, right in between BWV and OKW for action vs. relaxation... OKW is a bit too low key for me but VWL was juuuust right for a much needed "lounge around a lot" vacation (but I am still really looking forward to our trip in January where we get to stay at "home" again!)

That is definately where we will stay when we bring guests...(so I can show off my home of course) ;) :D BUT w/ just the three of us, I wanted smething differant. Thanks for all of your opinions, it just adds to the excitement!! :D :D
