I booked our flight for Febuary and got $79 each way (PHI/MCO) for the 4 of us. Good price for over Presidents week (Tues-Tues). Here's my question..I've already emailed Airtran and am waiting for a response.
When I picked the flights and got to the page where it gives me the option to pick my seats or complete the registration the cost was $715.20. Still good, I opted to pick our seats, I'm just one of those people that wants a seat, and it's worth the extra $7.50 to me (wow it was $5 in July). So I expected that the cost would be $775.20 ($60 for seats 4 each way). Well it came to $815.20. I booked them really not looking at the price. I got thinking about it and went back through the process and it shows $715.20 right through to when you add names/credit card info....The $40 difference is a "Fuel Charge". Shouldn't that be in the 1st total before you enter all of your information?
I just went into look at the flight and see how many seats were still available and it now says $5 per seat....What the heck?
Anyone experience these problems? What was the outcome with Airtran?
I like Airtran, we've flown them twice and the flights/service were fine. I'm not even opposed to paying the "fuel charge", but felt that I should have known about it before I entered the CC info.....
Thanks!
