WOW -- you guys are great!!! I cannot believe how much upfront and honest information you all provided. Now, not to seem ungrateful -- but I have one more question. We have narrowed the trip down to two choices (both of which are closest to our original price). One is that week in July, and the other is August 28th.

Many many people have told us that we could get much cheaper fares on other cruise lines for the same ports, but my family just refuses to try any other cruise lines right now. We feel "safe" with Disney -- like you know what to expect and what is expected of you.

So my new question would be (and I know this probably sounds stupid), but if anyone has taken an August cruise -- is it actually hotter in August because it is later in the summer, or does it maybe get better by then? And has anyone ever run into hurricanes that month?

Again, thanks for all your help. You are really going to be a big helpful in our final decision. You Disney Cruisers are great!

:sunny: We did not run into any hurricanes in August of 2000. It was hot but it was great. We are going again this August on the 1st (wonder). I know what you mean it is hard to think of another cruise other then Disney. Good luck in what ever you decide.:boat:

We did a late August cruise in 2002 and will be doing it again this year on August 28! Maybe you care to join us? There will be several DIS's on the cruise.

All I can say is that is was VERY HOT and HUMID in 2002. I doubt late August is much different than July.

Here is a link to the thread for the August 28 cruisers...

All 3 of our previous cruises were in Jan, so I don't know much about Aug and Jul weather. But, we are cruising on the Aug 28th Western and all the info I have is that it should be a great time to cruise. Plus the Aug 28th cruise gets back to port on Labor Day Weekend giving us an extra day to visit WDW.

Have a magical time whatever you choose, you really can't go wrong!

Oh well since Mark and Sandy posted here, I will also. We went in May and it was HOT in all the Western ports, so I am expecting HOT in August. I really can't see much of a difference between July or August.

I am also on the August 28th sailing. Come aboard.

Another August 28th cruiser checking in.

We have sail that week (on a lot of different cruise ships all the time). Yes it is hurrican season out of about six trips, I got caught in one once; Out of six trips other times of the year, I've got caught twice in rough weather.

Yes it is hot but I bet any money it's just as hot where you are from and it's not Disney. :bounce:

Whatever time you decide on, I'm sure it'll be a great trip.

Another August 28th cruising family here! :sunny:

We chose August 28th because of it being a western itinerary week, the excellent prices, PLUS returning on Labor Day weekend gives us an extra day which we'll spend in Disney World.

I think it would be just as hot any week in the summer, so the above reasons were good enough to help us decide. :)
