I'd keep Le Cellier. Your DD is getting 3 other character dining experiences - the grown ups need their choice too.

I agree that the adults need a choice, but count me amongst those who thinks that Crystal Palace is pretty good and Le Cellier is vastly overrated, so I'd probably keep CP. I'm of the opinion that I can get a better steak at home, but my kids rarely get the chance to hang out with Pooh Bear, Tigger, Piglet & Eeorye. That's not to denigrate Le Cellier, just my opinion based on my personal preferences.

Any chance you can do CP if you don't secure CRT (it looks like that one is still in flux)? Especially since you're doing Akershus for the princesses, which we found to be a lot of fun.

Either way, you'll have fun!

I will start by saying that me and my hubby both love  steak.

The last time I was at Disney (last August) I ate at both Crystal Palace and Le Cellier. The Crystal Palace wins hands down for us. Le Cellier was very disappointing and IMHO extremely overrated. The portions were small (I am not a big eater) and the side dishes were nonexistent....there was a steak and a potato on the plate and that was all....a few veggies would not have gone astray. The Crystal Palace on the other hand was a pleasure to eat at in spite of the characters. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was very good.

In my upcoming trip (again in August) we did not even try to get Le Cellier but we do have Crystal Palace booked again and I can't wait!:woohoo:

I'm of the opinion that I can get a better steak at home.:scared1:

This is what i'm scared of... Dh and I love Texas Roadhouse and Longhorns and if the steaks are not as good as them... we would be very upset!

I MUST get CRT! :rolleyes1 My Date opens tomorrow and,
We want a dinner, and a early one at that. soo... it's pretty good chance we will get it. Also DD has her heart set on eating in cinderella castle! It was the one thing i could not get last time..
But yes, if i've tried everything and still could not get CRT
I would book CP

Does anyone know if there is a theard with reviews on le cellier???
everyone i've ran into says its good, but i wouldn't mind reading more reviews....

I would do Le Cellier since there have been rumors that it is changing to signature dinning in the fall. You may want to try it out before it goes upscale and costs 2 meals under DDP.

Thats was the other thought!

also does anyone know what we can order ont he Disney dining plan???

Stater/ Main w/ side / dessert???
Is this right???
or is it just the main???

My family tried Akershus, and for lack of better words-it was'nt very good food wise, and took FOREVER to meet all of the princesses!!!:scared1: We have been to CP twice/trip x 2 trips, and have had a really good time every time-It does take long to meet the characters, but was sooooo worth it-our DD'S(4+3 trip 1,5+4 trip 2) LOVED IT!!! Especially this lame little parade around the restaurant following the characters, and twirling their napkins!!!:goodvibes Drop Akershus,I don't think you'll be sorry! The food is also much better here!Oddly enough, you should be able to get CP with out much difficulty.

I would keep LC as well and try to get in another day at CP! CP is really a great buffet and if your four year old loves the POOH characters she will love CP :)

You can have a steak anytime at home. How often does your child get to see the characters?

I don't know how other people feel about this, but we started to mix up character meals with non character meals because it became too much! We love seeing the characters and feel it is a great way to see them without having to wait in those long lines, but they do not make for a "relaxing" meal. Having to get up and down to get autographs and pictures...making sure that you see all of them, ect... it is not as relaxing as just having a meal....

That is why we now make sure that we mix it up...we have a couple of character meals for the kids, but make sure we have relaxing meals so we can all decompress from the parks too!

Hubby and I went to CP on our honeymoon and loved it. I honestly would drop chef mickey's for CP, but I understand u might want to garuntee a meet with mickey. CP breakfast is not that expensive, you might consider paying oop for it if you want to keep everything.

In my humble opinion, it's probably comparable to the two of those. To be clear, I don't think it's "bad", I just think it's similar to what you can get at Outback, or Texas Roadhouse, and not as good as a Palm, Flemming's, or another prime steakhouse. Since I've never been able to meet Pooh outside the parks, I give the edge to CP when in WDW.

I know what you mean about CRT, and I'm sure you'll be able to get it. :goodvibes We did dinners at both CRT and Akershus a couple weeks ago, and both were magical. We probably won't do CRT again soon, but it was magical to do once and certainly worth it. We found the food at Akershus to be excellent (and, in my opinion, superior to CRT), but it'll never be "the Castle".

Have fun! Good luck getting the CRT reservation. We got ours at 5 months out, so I'm sure you'll succeed if you call the day your window opens.

mmmmm Flemming's:goodvibes
however i don't expect that much from disney park food....
But i think they could do at lest as good as a outback...

Also
I did get CRT at 5:15 on dec 11th...
I also moved up CP to 11:30am on dec 12th..
DH and i may pay OOP for this... We are still trying to decide... The problem is we are not that big of eaters to do 2 TS in one day.
We did last time and had fun...
and its not we are never coming back.. (we are looking at 2013):rolleyes1

So right now i'm a little worried the Le cellier will go up to 2 TS credits before our trip! ( we would not be able to do Le cellier if they did that)

anymore thoughts??

It is my understanding that the starters/apps are no longer part of DDP. You get to order a main dish w/whatever sides it comes with and desert.

Alchol is not included unless you get the wine upgrade.

The Disney pdf is a little unclear on the DDP benefits as it does list apps as included (but only for children 3-9). So adults get to order main + side, and then desert only for TS.

This info is for the standard dining plan.

The deluxe plan does let you order apps but is pretty expensive (and from what I can tell not worth the extra bucks).

I agree that the steak at Le Cellier is about on par with The Outback and I thought that the much revered cheese soup was just not very good, also our pretzel bread was stale (not soft and yummy like the pretzel bread at Biergarten). I would not go to Le Cellier again but if the menu appeals to you guys then you should go for it as a lot of people really love it. I would pick to keep CP just because you can't meet pooh and friends everywhere but mediocre steak can be had all over.

If you are on the regular dining plan then each adult TS meal comes with an entree a dessert and a non alcoholic beverage.

The children's TS meals come with apps as well but for the most part they are not what you would consider an app more like a side of carrotts and dip or something like that.

The deluxe dining plan is the only one that includes appetizers
