Hi everyone:wave2:

We are FINALLY able to go on another trip (Had a lay off in 2011 so we couldn't go) We are looking at going 12/15 to 12/21. We have never been around the holidays and are SUPER excited:cool1: OK here is my question...we always stay at the Poly (there are 5 of us) which I love but we want to try something different. So looking to do a split stay between AOA and maybe BC?. Spoke with a CM and she suggested that we do the first half as a package with dining then the second half as room only because then we can just add the tickets for the remaining days at the kiosks at Disney and it would be cheaper that way as long as we do it while there is at least one day's worth of Tix on our Key to the world cards...Does this sound right to you guys??:confused3 If anyone has a better suggestion please let me know. And finally BC...is that a good choice? Picked it for the pool but now thinking we might not have the chance to use it if the weather is cold. So should I stick with BC?? Is there a resort that might provide a better experience for our first holiday trip?

The CM was correct. There is no such thing as a "split stay" - you have 2 different reservations. If you wanted the dining plan for the entire trip, you'd have to have 2 packages, and both would require a ticket purchase and that drives your cost way up. The only thing I'd say is that you don't have to add days to your tickets "at kiosks" - when you make your package reservation, you can put as many ticket days as you'll need on that reservation -- the number of ticket days does not have to match the number of nights. So, if you want to have 7 days of park admission, make your reservation with 7-day tickets, even if you're only staying at AOA 4 nights. Then, make your 2nd reservation room-only. You can even have the remaining admission days transferred to your new room keys.

I can't speak about the BC, as we've never stayed there, but it's definitely a lovely hotel to walk around and visit, so I'm sure it's nice to stay there too! :)

Yes you can do it that way, or book both as room only. We only did the split with a package once, and it was extra work for us having to modify the tickets, etc (but it was with a special deal, so I did it).

I would price them out and see what you prefer for your family. We never get the DDP because we don't want it, so the packages never appeal to me. Plus I like the flexibility of room-only reservations.

The BC is a very nice resort, especially if you like to spend time at Epcot and DHS. It's still family friendly like the Poly, but has a very different feel to it. :goodvibes

Love BC, but if you want the "real" christmas feel, WL or Gf are the places to be! Each hotel will be decorated, but those are the "christmasy-est" (made up word) ones. :santa:

AHHHHH I see...Thanks!!

You don't even need to add to the tickets later on, you can book the tickets with the full number of days you want. If you buy a package for a 3-night stay, you can get that package with a 10-day ticket if you want to ... the number of days on the ticket doesn't have to match the number of nights at the resort. And just because your Key To The World card won't serve as a room key anymore doesn't mean the remaining ticket entitlements expire.

So save yourself the time of adding to the ticket mid-way during your stay; book the package for your first stay with the exact park ticket you'll need for the whole trip.
