I just received my Acer Aspire One AOD150 yesterday from Amazon.

When I go into Microsoft Word, it is asking me for the 25 character product key. When I enter the product key that is on the sticker on the back of the netbook, it is telling me that the last number is incorrect. Should I be looking in another location for this product key? It keeps telling that I only have 20 more times to enter the number before it is required. Then I'm not sure what happens.

If someone could please help me out and tell me how to solve this problem, it'd be much appreciated. I thought that Windows XP was already loaded onto the netbook so I don't understand why it needs the product code.

I've tried googling the answer to this and haven't had much success. I also called Microsoft but refuse to pay for tech support to solve this problem that I don't think I should be having in the first place. TIA.

Do you have additional paperwork? There might be a manual with the reg code inside or on the back. also there might be a re-installation CD/DVD and that might have the code.

Did you install MS-Word or was it loaded on the laptop when you bought it? It is a different license key than the one on the laptop, that is for the operating system.

It was already loaded onto the operating system. I have re-looked at all the manuals and the boxes and haven't found a separate number. It did not come with a re-installation disk.

You might have to buy it, unless you're sure you bought it with the laptop.

I have an Acer and it didn't come with it, I had to by it separately
