Hey all!

Some of you may know me from the Theme Park and Attractions fourm. I'm currently seeking help to cheer up a soldier that is a friend of mine who is stationed overseas and was recently injured.

Sam, my friend, is 21 and has never been to Walt Disney World before. My family and I promised him that as soon as he makes it home safely we will take him for his first time. It gets lonely over there at times and there isn't much for them to do in their spare time. I've sent over several books for him to start reading, and would like to have an extra something to keep him occupied while he is recovering. That is where I ask for your help!

I'm collecting postcard and cards with well wishes from as many people as I can. The cards do not have to be Disney related, but inside I ask that you write some kind words and one of your favorite Disney Trivia facts, travel tips, or favorite attraction stories!

If you have any interest in helping me out, please PM me and I will send you my address! All cards I receive, I will forward to Sam (for security purposes I can't directly give his address). I will be sending out a package including all the cards on 4-7-07.

Thank you in advance to all who help!

I wish I would have seen this sooner!

DH's best friend and college roommate is stationed in Iraq, as well. He's only been to Disney twice- once right before Commissioning Week with DH and for our wedding. All Dustin has wanted to do since he got over there was come home and go to Disney World. Becuase we have his return dates and they are pretty well set (and not subject to change so that they overlap with the vacation plans), we have been doing all the planning with him over e-mail and the phone. We make up trip intineraries anyway, so it was no big deal. We sent him emails and email about where to stay and let him make the decision. That took a good ten days. Next came which parks on which days. I'd say that was about two weeks. After that came ADRs. That's been closer to 2 months! But, you can see how they can become involved by doing it over the phone and email with them and it helps them pass the time. One of the biggest problems is boredom.... what better way to help curb that than do some productive vacation planning?!

xoxo
